@muyjingo: I agree with that analysis but Superman should be equally opposed to killing as Batman. Yet Superman has killed a few times and most of them (aside from Doomsday) were poorly written. Also you forgot KG Beast, a villain that outskilled and outmuscled Batman which resulted in Batman locking him in a room and potentially leaving him to die without food or water.
@sog7dc: Then I take it Wraith's appearance in Superman Unchained isn't going to please you much? I'm fine with Superman facing foes that outmuscle him. It's something that Superman can benefit from greatly in terms of story telling.
Sentry had the speed advantage and was superior to Thor by a mile. It's clearly stated that Robert temporarily took control and let his guard down to allow Thor to kill him so that made sense. Doesn't change the fact Siege was a steaming pile of awfully written rubbish though.
@keeperworlds: Even Lobdell, who tries to shoehorn in the Superman/Wonder Woman romance and isn't the best Superman writer by far writes Superman and Lois with more chemistry than Superman and Wonder Woman. Snyder's focusing on Lois in Unchained too and Azzarello is basically ignoring the New 52 in his title. The only writer who's doing something for the relationship is Johns. Why people like the thinly veiled Wonder Woman/Superman romance I have no idea.
@durakken: There are plenty of characters who can give Superman a very good fight even if they lose to him. Superman's hardly the problem when Goku's powers are exaggerated and played up loads of times to make him seem more powerful than he actually is. Not to mention the whole planet/solar system busting attacks DBZ characters can supposedly pull off.
@muyjingo: Well it shouldn't be. Batman's unhinged mental state is a far more likely component for him killing (not that I would like it) than Superman's unshakable moral compass instructing him not to kill. Aside from Doomsday, most of the times Superman has killed has involved poor writing.
The number of people who are fine with that scene is quite disheartening really. It betrays a lack of understanding about who Superman really is and that he always finds another way.
