"No worries. I was just being sure I remembered correctly more than anything. As for the Rapture I don't remember much about it. I remember my friend saying it's a "Get Out of Hell Free Card" sort of. Like it might represent hope because getting out of hell is hope in hell or something like that. But again I don't know first hand.  You're right though, we don't have much in the way of what ties the 13 together.  My guess is humanity; but it could be anything. Maybe they all share a destiny that hasn't been reveled? Who knows? But I'm not gonna lie, I'm excited to read it when it comes out, but it's also fun to speculate and hear other people's theories. "
The Rapture actually appeared in the Magdalena/Tomb raider crossover arc. Pretty good one actually, then again I like the Magdalena and Top cow did a surprisingly good job with Tomb Raider. It was only after when people referenced those events that it was revealed to be one of the 13. The Rapture is described as being a lot worse then just a get out of hell free card. Supposedly, it allows one to open the gates of Hell. Meaning if anyone could master the Rapture, he could unleash the hordes of Fallen Angels and demons that wait for the Apocalypse to wage war on reality  I'm also really excited to read about the artifacts. I'm going to grab Pandora's box as soon as I can and the Artifacts arc is definitely one of my next purchases once it comes out.   I remember that part in the early Arc where Ian Nothingham got his hands on both the darkness and the witchblade. The sorcerer Celestine suggested that if a single person could get his hands on all the artifacts, he could remake the world or cause the apocalypse or something equally world shattering.  Maybe the artifacts are all metaphysical representations of the building blocks of the universe. I mean take destruction  it isn't evil in itself when you think about it, it's a necessary part of creation. Without forest fires, new growth can spring to life.   That said I would love if they wrote an arc the gave us a better look at how the Top Universe is shaped. Like what outer worlds exists, supernatural factions, powerful beings with a stake in the outcome etc. "
Agreed. That would be amazing. And you definitely should pick up the Pandora's Box. I read the first issue and I can only think it's going to be awesome. Especially seeing how Ember and Glacier relate to one another, that is other than being opposites when it comes to the 13.

Your theory makes sense.

Also I haven't read much Magdalena; actually outside of her appearances in other books than her own I don't know much about her. I did have a friend at work that loved her though. I ended up getting him into Witchblade and Darkness; and he was gonna let me borrow his issues but we both got transfered so that didn't happen. Still I've found myself liking all things Top Cow; and that's bad because I'm a huge Marvel Fanboy, but I can honestly say I love Top Cow more all in all.

So one of these days I'll probably spend all my money to catch up on all the things I haven't read.

MMmmmh, I will say the are equal, because it's just the same things in comics. Check Galaktus : he's a being who use science, and the ultimate annihilator is an technological object, yet they're power is nigh encompassing. When I think of what can do Doom, or Reed Richard with technology, it's just frightenings.

Sure, Magic look more easy, but it's still manage to have many and less controlable drawback : demon, gods, cosmics entities, and many other thing like that.I will just use this quote that's really apply in comics : "Any level of  sufficient high level of technology is indistinguishable of magic". "
Galactus is a god with godlike powers that grants silver surfer his. Other than Skaar using the old power(is it science or magic) to beat juggeraunt's magical armor, magic is usually more powerfully because it is so open ended. "
Science is pretty open ended in the Marvel Universe.

This is true... my bad, on the glacier stone and the ember stone  interesting thought. But that also begs on the purpose of the wheel of shadows and the Rapture. Dunno, the entire purpose of the 13 is still quite foggy. "

" Start with #1 seriously. You can get the first 50 issues in a massive trade paperback easy as pie and relatively cheap.  The most of the rest of the major story arcs are also easily available as trades. So there's no reason to start at issue 150 and miss out a lot of important arcs "
Agreed. The TPB is pretty cheap; and it's also awesome. A friend had them all and I was already into The Darkness so I gave it a try and have not once regretted it.

" What confuses me is what purpose in the balance of the universe do some have. I mean, I get the Witchblade, the Darkness and the Angelus. It's light and Order, Chaos and Darkness and the balance between...  I get the amber stone and the glacier stone. One if the fire of destruction, the other water and creation.  By what purpose would the Rapture and the Wheel of Shadows have, they don't appear to be the kind of thing mortals should get their hands on. The Rapture should be in the hand of an archangel or something else that would have the good sense and power to keep it from being used before the Apocalypse...  And the bloodsword what's it's purpose?  dunno, I love the concept of the artefacts but I can't wait to get more info on them... "
I thought it was the other way around, as so far as Ember Stone and Glacier Stone go. Ember was aligned with the Angelus I thought. And Glacier aligned with the Darkness. I think fire is supposed to be life while ice is destruction. Like the warmth and light the sun gives off versus the cold of space or how in the right environment fire is the only life you have against the death that cold and ice can bring. That being said, maybe there are a couple of meanings for each artifact. And maybe its not about their power or even how they were created, but rather how the things they embody relate to humanity as a whole. The Blood Sword uses blood and death to give it's wielder power, while the Spear of Destiny uses blood and death for the benefit more or less of all. Selfishness versus altruism.

Just a thought.

I think it's sweet that you're the only one on here who's noticed her personality :) "
lol

Well I find her interesting as a character, I'm not a big fan or anything, but I can relate to the your parents being rather harshly religious end of things.  I've been there.

But hey what guy doesn't like a girl with a good personality. Pretty and vapid would drive me crazy personally.

Why do you say that?  I made the match, and I'm actually undecided. "
And it's a pretty good damn match. Especially seeing as the ship is huge and has many places to fight above and below deck. Lots of variables, lots of neat match-ups, and lots of egos that could make the fight go either way in character.

You people do know that Cyclops is capable of changing the size, width, and even concentrating his blasts. Likewise he's a master tactician, capable of complex geometric calculations in his head and using that to bounce blasts off of surfaces in his combat area to hit from unexpected directions He can give Danny trouble in a lot of ways.

I think Danny wins, but he's probably not going to tank anything. He'd probably use his speed, agility, and skill to get in. Amp his body with Chi so he can take an optic blast or two . And use superior h2h to finish things.

" @jacobyLIVE: ... No he doesn't. His body constantly converts solar energy to the heat less, concussive force that he produces. "
Actually I thought the official tag line these days was that Cyclops doesn't produce the energy but rather his eyes contain dimensional apertures that his body keeps open by absorbing solar radiation. So in effect his eyes are a dimensional gateway into a dimension that is simply filled with concussive force/ energy. If I remember correctly that was said to actually make him more powerful to the point that he wouldn't run out of energy because he has a near limitless amount. And likewise with the older incarnations it could be explained as his body no longer having the solar energy it needed to keep the apertures open.
