There is a new mandate that no new mutants can be created in an X-Men series. Unless they are introduced in a book like Avengers or Spiderman. Since Marvel is self sabotaging the X-Men franchise since the movie rights are owned by Fox. They essentially do not want to promote Mutants or X-Men, or give Fox any new characters to use. So we wont be getting any new students for some time.

I haven't kept up with all the books recently, but I have to agree, WatX didn't jive with me the way New X-Men did. I really enjoyed that cast of characters, and to me it achieved it's goal. Which was to bring back a student/school centric book (like New Mutants was in the 80s). After all it was originally titled New Mutants. I'm not at all interested in any of the newer students, Shark-Girl, Eye-Boy, Gold-Balls, Triage etc (or the five lights).

I don't know what the world is going to look like after Secret Wars, but I wouldn't be upset if somehow all these newer mutants disappear. And for whatever reason, they decide to make another 'Young Mutant' book, I hope they revisit the ones that actually worked (in my opinion). Hellion, Surge, Rockslide, Dust, Anole, Mercury. Perhaps put a few of them on a team with the original New Mutants.

Dust and Surge quickly comes to mind.

Which really sucks, they are two of my favorite X-kids, but I have to agree. Along with most of the other New Mutants: Trance, Match, Loa, Indra will probably go off into limbo. The only ones I see from that generation sticking around are Hellion, Mercury, Armor, Bling, Rockslide and Anole.

How about Rictor? The dude has been strutting around in a sweater with a leather jacket over top for far too long. And before that it was a black t-shirt with an X-Men insignia. He got the shaft as far as design in X-Factor.

No one cares about the Inhumans, just give us a damn X-Men show.

I agree but I don't want a X-Men show made by the same people who do the other Marvel shows. X-Men need depth added to their stories. I want the team who did Wolverine and the X-Men.

Wouldn't that just be awesome?! I'm not 100% sure, but haven't X-Men cartoons always generated better ratings than most of other Marvel animated shows? We probably wont see anything for X-Men animated for a number of years, unless Marvel and Fox come to some agreement. I still can't believe they pulled so much of X-Men related merchandise from their official stores. :/ *sigh*

That being said, I stopped watching this show ages ago. I think Spectacular was much better.

I have never liked Magik, however I do love Bachalo drawing her. It almost makes me want to like her. However, I have to say, Emma Frost. I like the new direction they are taking her character after the PF left her. Same with Cyclops, but Emma>Scott.

Avengers. Compared to the X-Men they bore me, and I don't find them as relatable.

I think a great deal of mutants do experience headache's in the wake of their manifestations. Almost all telepaths obviously because of obvious reasons. I cannot be 100% certain, but I do believe that Scott had head pains upon his manifestation. It's not all mutants, of those who've I've seen on panel's manifesting, Mercury, Stacy X, Dust, Rogue, they didn't express symptoms of head aches.

I never read any of Kitty's origins, or seen any flashbacks, so I'm not familiar with her manifestation.

I thought Iceman/Psylocke was unexpected and interesting in Age of X. Would like to see that haha.

@cattlebattle Well Queen Bee is not the only one who seems to be doing kidnappings. Its clear that Black Manta's organization is doing the same. I think Artemis will try to find a lead through Black Manta's end while Aqualad deals with higher end information regarding the Light.

It seems they are gathered before delivery to Queen Bee as she had to instruct the "partners" if they messed up a delivery, any number of agents can do the actual kidnapping, I just think that they wind up in Queen Bees care before being finally shipped out. I understand what you said about having Icicle and Artemis be a useless sub plot, but the show does love to to have "shouts" to the comic, in the comics, they are famously a couple. The fact that Artemis appearance was altered leads me to believe that she will don the Tigress identity

As fun as seeing Artemis pick up the Tigress identity as a hint to comic fans would be. I don't know how well it would play out. Especially with Sportsmaster still in cahoots with the light. I believe Artemis said that her mother took both names of Huntress and Tigress. (I'll have to rewatch that part to make sure, but I thought I heard both names used). So if that is true, I think Sportsmaster would be intrigued to see some random chick using the name, and having a similar fight style as his daughter. He'd catch on way too quickly if they took that angle.
