I agree with what some have said: If you don't like "teen" Parker, but do like Spider-Man and "adult" Parker, read ASM and pass by on this Spidey book. This is an effort by Marvel to pull in some new, younger readers and there's nothing wrong with that! If you are an old-timer, but still want to pick this new title up, feel free. I like what Marvel does with their diversity of titles.

I actually suggested something akin to this many moons ago on this site. Mine was more of: "they should have, say, 12 - 15 or so mainstay titles (such as Batman, Superman, JLA, Flash, Wonder Woman, etc.) that just go on and on. Then have a variety of mini-series that feature B-and C-list characters. No need to make them into ongoing titles if they sell well, because that usually doesn't last. If another creative team comes along with a good idea for a character that's been previously spotlighted, put out another mini-series later on." Charge $3.99 for the mainstay titles if they must, but the mini-series should never be priced more than $2.99 per issue.

The whole Convergence thing was mishandled, in my opinion. I just finished one comic in week 8 that said "continued in Convergence #6, which came out two weeks ago! What they should have done:

1. Convergence #1 should have been double-sized and come out the week of or the week before the first set of other #1 issues (with all the domes coming down near the end of each issue). Then all the other number 1 issues should have followed as they did in the next 3 weeks.

2. Convergence #2 should have come out week 5 of this 8 week event, also double-sized (with the earthquake and all). Then the rest of the #2 issues should have followed in the final 3 weeks.

3. Convergence #3 should have come out the final week (week 8) with a message at the end of all the week 8 titles to read the finale of the story in double-sized Convergence #3 after and it would wrap everything up as issue number 8 actually did.

They didn't need 8 weekly issues of Convergence. They were repetitive and mainly focused only on the Earth 2 characters . . . and some of Skataris characters.

The only thing I'm going to complain about is the issue numbering. Of course, Marvel can do what they want to, but to change the issue number to 645 because that's what the current issue would be IF they continued to stay with the original first volume of the title is a bit silly, in my opinion. It's not the fans who demanded that Marvel keep rebooting its main titles with new number ones every few months. What is it now? Are we on volume 4 or 5 or Fantastic Four? I can't keep up any more. Either keep the original numbering/original volume or don't. I just think it's an insult to us long time readers when they do something like this.

Doom was in the preview for, like, half a second and so many are grumbling? Wow.

Looks like Johnny is Dr. Storm's biological father and Sue is either adopted or a step-sibling. I've always enjoyed the Fantastic Four comic book as well as the Ultimate version. I, for one, liked the first two F4 movies and won't mind seeing this. To me, the first two were the 616 F4 and this one will be the Ultimate F4 . . . and that's fine by me.

I've read issue #0 and #1 plus most of the tie-ins. It seems to me that each of the tie-ins are following the exact same plot and story-telling layout. We get an explanation that the headline characters have been in this pre-Flashpoint Gotham City (tell me why, again, was Superman/Lois Lane and The Flash in Gotham to begin with - - both seemed forced to me) for about a year. Everyone that had powers lost them (except the Atom had some strange growing hand power, why?) and things seemed more or less okay in the city. Then the big Telos announcement and heroes and/or villains started to fight each other.

This is not to say I didn't enjoy some of the tie-ins, because I did. It just seemed the plots were exactly the same and I really didn't need to buy or read them all to get the gist of the story. I personally have not minded the new52 universe that much, but am happy to see some pre-Flashpoint characters revisited. Does anyone know how DC sales were before Flashpoint as compared to recent months? I think new52 should have been akin to Marvel's Ultimate line (you know, when it was actually good) or an Earth 2 type situation and the "regular" DC should have stayed around all along.

I personally can't get enough of The Walking Dead, so I look forward to this one eagerly. I have read somewhere that it will start out as a prequel but soon become a companion piece with events happening roughly at the same time as the original series.

That house set in the wintery scene reminded me of Kingsman (one of the best "non-bond" Bond movies, imho!).

I like his costume, no complaints from me. I think what Yost is trying to do in Amazing X-Men is give it the old Claremont/Byrne feel. With several of the original (all-new) characters there and not being overwhelmed with only a couple of newer ones, we're learning to enjoy our favorites again. The villains they are going up against and special guest stars (Wendigos! Alpha Flight! The Living Monolith/Juggernaut - - great!) are also old-school. Their costumes, I believe, are leaning toward giving us that nostalgic feeling as well.

As comics are a visual medium, titles really need to have eye-catching artists/inkers on the team. Teen Titans just doesn't have that. Now, sure, we'll probably never see George Perez back on TT any time soon, but there are a few artists out there that have his drawing sensibilities. I've noticed this in several recent Marvel and DC titles - - crap artwork. If I don't get something nice to look at, it doesn't really matter (to me) how good a story might be.
