Not a big fan of the limitations (especially 2 telepaths), but it was fun to work within the assigned structure. With such a large number of team members, I decided to segment the roster into 3 specific groups.

FIELD TEAM – Specializes in infiltration, espionage and enemy engagement.

  • · Jean Grey – Co-leader field team, Telepathic communication hub
  • · Mystique – Co-leader field team, Stealth and espionage expert
  • · Nightcrawler – Scout, stealth, and penetration expert.
  • · Quicksilver – Scout, Quick Assault specialist.
  • · Colossus – Tank
  • · Wolverine – Can Opener

PERIMETER TEAM – Oversees and supports the field team.

  • · Storm – Team leader, Uses weather abilities to assist the field team
  • · Magick – Team logistics, Occult specialist
  • · Ice Man – Calvary

HQ – Assigns missions, provides accommodations and tech.

  • · Professor Xavier – Overall command, Team support
  • · Forge – Tech specialist, magic advisor

After a brief cancellation with issue 7, public outcry forced DC to let the title continue at least through it's planned 12 issue arc. Has anyone heard if Omega Men were still getting canned at 12 or might we move past that? Just curious. I haven't heard anything.

Man, Tasmia really gets no love online. So here is a little gallery and tidbits about her creation. I find her character interesting in the racial history of comic publishing. Originally she was intended to be of African decent, as noted here...

What happened was that Legion fans and would-be comic book writers George Vincent and Mike Rickford came up with two characters that they thought would be good Legionnaires, Chemical King and Shadow Lass.

Both characters ended up being used in the Adult Legionnaire issue.

However, Vincent and Rickford had a much different origin in mind for Shadow Lass. She was intended to be black, from an all-black planet colonized from black people from Earth who left Earth due to racial strife.

Weisinger thought that the idea was way too controversial, but he said he liked the character and would try to work her in in a different fashion.

From... http://malpertuis.soup.io/post/74715334/COMIC-LEGEND-Shadow-Lass-was-created-by

Obviously DC had reserves about publishing African-Americans in their comics at the time. Look up Ferro Lad for another example.

Anywho... here are a few pics
