 When I mull it over I'm finding myself starting to doubt the validity of the "catch him in the air" defense. Haven't their been times where spider-man has dodged attacks by shifting his weight while he was in the air? I'm starting to think that attacks with a large blast radius or homing attacks are the only surefire way to hit him. I suppose the former could be evaded by web zipping out of the danger zone but in the two instances of ladder being used the second time ( when his was fighting bullseye ands thous soldier's with homing bullets ASM# 572) seemed like a logical way for someone to hit him. But you have to question how the work and how they can move that fast if their constantly changing trajectory.

You're right spider-man may not be able to dodge everything  for example objects traveling at light speed but he should be able to dodge everything thats bellow a certain speed that his spider-sense can perceive in time for him to avoid it. Also I don't care what anyone says being able to see bullets is superhuman not peak.

  @spidey 15:
But spider-man senses the individual bullets and moves out of the way or contorts his body so they don't hit him thats different from just rolling out of the killzone and fists are not as fast as bullets the only reason someone should be able to hit him is if the attack from multiple directions and overwhelm him or the move faster than even he can react. those form of attack don't require the writer or reader forget how his powers work.

@spidey 15:  What I meant to say was that you  could rationalize Spider-man's suppression of his spider sense  as him trying to not harm him and when you can pull that "saw one hit was actually hit THREE times" crap Cap did I could see why you would think he couldn't dodge all his hits  but for goodness sakes the guy dodges bullets .

OK I may be rationalizing bad writing, but post the other Spider-man's reflexed were rigged to automatically attack threats on instinct. though really I doubt they even had this in mind during the fight.

The fact the spider-man's reactions to his spider-sense are automatic makes me even more annoyed by  his moment of combat incompetence. The guy couldn't outmatch cap even though he fights on auto pilot.

@spidey 15:  Spider-man is pretty persuasive when he wants to be. All he needs to do is ask if he could borrow his shield for a second, maybe throw in a pretty please.

Can't he just stick his hand to the shield and just take it from him?

Cap is not weak though. He is veeeery close to super human levels and spidey still has some spots that he can be hurt... so yes...cap can hurt him.
He couldn't dodge it for reasons i state all the time.
=]

  I'm not saying the guy isn't strong or fast just not enough to realistically contend with spider-man without something augmenting his abilities. I've actually wondered why S.H.I.E.L.D hasn't built him some kind of exoskeleton.
