I'Voree was born to a pair of Rattataki slaves. At a young age, he was adopted into the trade to unearth Sith artifacts and excavate ancient temples on Korriban. During the cold war between the Sith Empire and the Galactic Republic, he was found to be potently force-sensitive and sent to the Sith Academy to train, a rare honour for an alien slave. Intrigued by the ways of the Force, he studied much, not just the Sith code, but secretly the Jedi code and other more heretical texts as well to achieve more power and a fuller understanding of the Force. Given his thirst unusual for knowledge and keen wit for a Rattataki slave, I'Voree was trained as an apprentice to become a Sith Inquisitor to hone his power in Sith philosophy and politics, preferring tactics such as Force lightning or persuasion to lightsaber techniques.

The Sith Empire has began to crumble from within between Sith power plays and the death of the Emperor at the hands of Andy Sunrider, Jedi Knight of the Republic. The Dark Council member Darth Mortis has called upon the Horsemen of the Council to retrieve for him a lost Sith relic that has surfaced on the moon of Nar Shaddaa. The Twi'lek Sith Darth Tiamat traced the artifact to the Slippery Slopes cantina owned by the former smuggler Xaemon August. After a seduction and threat of torture, the cantina owner narrowly escaped the clutches of the Sith. But the information was acquired by a second Horseman, Tiamat's sister, a Rattitaki called Darth Vecna by killing one of Xaemon's associates.
This was all done without the consent of the other members including the newly inducted Darth An'arche, head of the sphere of Sith knowledge. An'arche achieved her power by defeating Darth Thanaton utilizing a Sith ritual known as force walking and currently is sharing a mind with three force ghosts. She has sent her own emissary Lord I'Voree along with her Padawan apprentice Ashara Vazros to find the artifact as well. Having discovered Mortis' misuse of power, the Horseman of War, Darth Tiamat informed An'arche of the situation.
Meanwhile, Jedi Sunrider has also called upon the aid of Xaemon who agreed to lead him to the smuggler in possession of the relic for a price, wanting to get that cursed thing off Nar Shaddaa and destroyed for good. Using his special knowledge of the underworld, Xaemon lead the Jedi to a Devaronian named Gault Rennow. The pair had just secured the artifact to their possession when they were again assailed by the Sith Horsemen. At the command of Sunrider, Xaemon absconded with the relic and brought it to the safety of the Jedi's starship, hoping his role in this madness was over.
