Gives "Jump the shark" a whole new meaning. 0

I think we can all agree that Matt Fraction's run of Iron Man was one of, if not the, worst "written" series in the history of language (By God his Thor was a close second in terms of sheer, unadulterated stupidity). With that in mind, this needs to take the throne for the single worst issue. What Kieron Gillen just wrote ... is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever seen. At no point in his rambling, incoherent issue was he even close to anything that could be considered a rational ...

The exact moment Marvel "Jumped the Shark" 0

Marvel, what this issue just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard. At no point in the rambling, incoherent issue were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone in this room is now dumber for having read it. I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul....

Art so bad, couldn't even bring myself to read it. 0

Let's face it. Comics are, at their very core, a visual medium. With out the art, they are just short stories. The art is bad. Like ... bad. Not sure what Marvel is doing these days, why they are going for such a 'pop art' feel, but it needs to end. The story line is thin enough, with Malekith going after the Mandarin's rings, weak sauce. But add try to have that conveyed with visuals that are really just brutal. Ugh. Issues like this make me look forward to the end of my subscription. E...

At least it's over quick 0

It still amazes me how people can think this is passable, let alone quality work.Fraction is, at best, disjointed and incoherent and at worst nonsensical. Larocca continues to show someone with no capability to actually draw may stay employed at Marvel. On to the issue …The Good -Fraction manages to pack almost nothing interesting into the issue, that means it is a quick read. With Stark ‘ejecting’ the Bleeding Edge armor there is hope for the future. That is, was, and will be one of the worst ide...

Bigger issues 0

My focus has shifted away from how incoherent Fraction's attempt at writing has been to how can people at Marvel continue to let his nonsensical dribble reach the presses. His dialogue is brutal, plots paper thin and his continued disregard for every bit of continuity, even his own, is increasingly bizarre.Pasqual Ferry seems to at least be servicable, if he were drawing Dr. Suess books, for a comic title, especially Thor his style is wrenching.I see the production credits one Alan Fine. Knowing...

Steamy pile of poo 0

How many pointless plot lines can be brought together at once? What was the point of the weapons Iron Man and Odin made? None, they showed a few panels of basic combat with them, but for all the buildup shouldn't they have played a larger part in something ... anything?!? In the end the Worthy account for just about nothing. The fight with Thor and The Serpent was disjointed and felt far too rushed for being something supposedly that cataclysmic. One panel The Serpent is yelling, then he is glowin...

Bendis ... the Anti-Fraction? 0

In the aftermath of the Fear event, it is always nice to see how Bendis will undo the horrible acts of atrocity of when Fraction commits in the Marvel Universe.Overall not a spectacular issue, the usual "Get the band back together" type commentary. Until the last panel of the last page. It shows Bendis' brilliance. One of the greatest cliff-hanger moments I have seen in a long, long time.Well done, sir. Well done. As an aside, the art with nice. Not great, but nice. Compared to the shear, utter,...

Super Soldier, not Superhuman 0

Not to nitpick too much but Mockingbird is, allegedly, now supposed to have a similar ‘power’ set as Captain America, right? Anyone else feel like they over stepped this a bit? She is leaping tall buildings, as it were, scaling the attacking mech, punching through their cockpit windows, jumping from them while they fly and then explode and landing unscathed. Just feels like they were so anxious to make her a super soldier they have crossed into just giving her super powers.   The peak of human c...

Ignore the past 0

My first issue ‘review’ … many will think it just QQ’ing but that is your prerogative. Not sure if I need to detail that yes, I bring up a few plot issues, so they would be considered spoilers if you have not read the issue. If you have not read the issue, you should consider yourself lucky. I do. I honestly do not understand Fraction at all.  He has not concept of that comics existed before he graced them with his destructive presence. There is so much wrong it is hard to addres...
