I heard/read somewhere that there was a special kind of glue for those kind of masks... and I am not just talking about fictional superheroes, I mean people who cosplay. "
It's called spirit gum and you can buy it at any half-decent costume store. Tom mentioned it in the article.

How can anyone claim ownership to the term "superhero"?  NOT defending Vivid, but superhero is a bit of a loose term, isn't it?

DC and Marvel have jointly registered the trademark "superhero." I'm hopeful that, if challenged, it would not stand since it would seem to be a highly generic term by now. Trademarks can be kept in perpetuity, but they can be "killed" by turning generic.

Even under today's ridiculous Intellectual Monopoly regime, parody is protected expression. I don't know why anyone would expect most comic fans to get upset about any alleged infringement, whether actual or imaginary, especially since:
1) Many of them write fan-fiction, which is actually infringing, it's just that most IP holders choose not to pursue it
2) Many of them download comic book torrents (so-called "piracy").

I really doubt the sincerity of anyone who claims to be angry over the "rights" of a faceless corporation to a character that they had no part in creating and rightfully should be in the public domain by now.

I read that somewhere on the 'net, but I'm not sure how accurate is is.

Speaking of, there's this character from the old Daredevil (Lev Gleason) books. It's a twist on the old werewolf trope, at any rate.

How about someone actually uses the magic little FLAG link to highlight what's going on?!

None of these childish posts have anything to do with the subject at hand.  At this very moment, I'm at work with limited access to the internet.  But this has been brought to my attention, and it has to be dealt with.

Therefore, there will be a delay before I address the individuals concerned.  I need the time & faster access I have at home to deal with this situation.

But from now on: STAY ON TOPIC & BE CIVIL TO EACH OTHER.

"

I had little confidence that flagging a post was going to do anything when emails to staff members weren't acknowledged.

How about a "flag" option on Private Messages then, or better yet a way to block someone from messaging you?

I'm not sure how you thought I was trying to apologize to you, but I wasn't. Now go get your shinebox.

I'm seven foot eleven and I don't need to powerlift or do any kind of exercise because I am just naturally muscular. I've been in so many street fights with multiple assailants, and every time they were wielding hand grenades, machine guns, flamethrowers, rocket launchers, bulldozers, chainsaws, and atomic death rays.

Look, I didn't want to show you up or provoke anything more, but you've gone too far. You've made me angry, and you wouldn't like me when I'm angry.

I don't see how you can call this censorship, which implies actual coercion, when the Comics Code Authority was entirely self-inflicted. If they "had" to do it in order to sell the comics because their distributors wouldn't carry books without the seal, then there's not much to complain about. They're responding to consumer demand, and their re-sellers have every right to hold them to whatever standards they deem appropriate.
