I think it's a race thing because even aliens and other non human characters when they are supposed to look human are usually depicted as white.

Wonder Woman will beat the hell out of Hercules...easily too.

I actually don't think it is race thing as much as it is a lack of cultural knowledge. In the USA we are for the most part only taught about Western mythology and literature and we often lack the knowledge of the literature of other cultures, including ancient Egypt. Just like the general population comic book writers are not going to have much of an in depth knowledge of non Western mythologies, so they are going to be less inspired to use them a source of inspiration, although i don't see any reason why they couldn't in of itself.

This probably wouldn't be a problem if people (especially the writers) did the research...as I understand, the ancient Egyptians didn't so much believe in animal-headed gods, as much as they believed in gods that they thought might be best represented in art as animal-headed humanoids, in order to reflect their nature (for instance, falcons were associated with the sky, hence why the sky god Horus was depicted with a falcon's head).  It really wouldn't be difficult to adjust this detail if the writers wanted to use the Egyptian gods in comics.

hey man Bendis is a great writer. I love him for Ultimate Spider-Man. Jeph Loeb would make more sense. Why Quesada has been pushing Loeb to the top of Marvel, ill never know.

I actually agree with him that Tim's skills are the worst in the Bat Family unless you count Damian & Steph Brown.I would rather play as Tim than Jason Todd though. Talk about a terrible character.

yeah, i count damian and steph. i also want to say that he outclasses Huntress but i haven't read anywhere near enough of her to say something that bold

i actually like Jason but Tim's my favorite
