My X-Men Dream Team

With all the shadow reveals in the X-Universe almost complete, I felt pretty uninspired in parts.  Then I started thinking about what would a cover look like that I would be completed sated.  Putting this crew together for one X-Superbook would be something that I would read until the pages fell out.  Of course this would take some creative re-imagining of the ranks (as some of them are currently dead - sort of), but damn if it wouldn't make a good read.  And looking at it a little more, I think it would make a good espionage book, as most of these characters are smart and skilled enough or have the right kind of powers to get in and out of places unnoticed.  How has an X-spy book not happened yet?

List items

  • The leader. Thanks to the Legacy title, she's shown she has the chops to lead a team and has quickly become my favorite character in the X-U.

  • So excited to see he's making his way back to the 616. He's been one of my favorites since I was knee-high. I'd read any book with him in it.

  • I love about the X-books because its where most of the great female energy is in Marvel Comics. I'd love to see a Psylocke solo title, but for now it's good enough to see her with a lead role over in X-Force.

  • Super smart and super strong. He'd make a great addition to a team full of very clever X-folks.

  • Another elder for the group. I always wanted Storm's powers. And she carries herself with class and regality, as a queen should.

  • What can I say? I've got a thing for the speedsters.

  • Come on, a team designed to be sneaky. Who wouldn't want a thief on board?

  • If I love speedsters, I also can't so no to a little swashbuckling here and there. And Shatterstar, for me, proves that there are great gay characters in comics. That doesn't get celebrated enough sometimes.

  • Moonstar is one of the only characters that consistently makes me wish I was reading New Mutants. I'm still not, but she kicks @$$. Vigorous period.

  • Maybe it's just that she's not "butch" enough for a lot of readers, but it seems like Pixie's just starting to get the play she deserves (was I the only one who like Fraction's 'Quarantine' storyline?). But, from the looks of the shadow reveals, she's been magically warped out of the spotlight. Oh, the irony.
