how about when sentry was going ballistic and thor fried him?

bucky was the winter soldier but after getting all better he donned the mantle of captain america, and some argued he was a better cap than cap?

how about iron man for being an arms dealer for all those years, should that not count just because he's iron man?

i am almost positive i can list several others that have killed i just can't remember when.

when the cards are stacked, and they're facing someone they can't beat with jail or a bop on the nose, you really want a bunch of people standing around with the power to end of it for good but don't because of some ridiculous moral code that they swear they can't come back from? or do you want at least one guy on the team who won't look away when what needs to be done is done?

it's why this AVX thing got dumb fast, cap came to wolverine on hands and knees saying he needed him because it was going to be war. also, wolverine has experience with this thing. the second wolverine knows how far it may have to go cap tells him no killing and kicks him out of a plane? it is war and it isn't just people trying to rule it that you can command an uprising at some point, it's an entity that destroys planets. that's too large of a threat. how many times do you think they fought for jean grey when they knew her having the phoenix was dangerous. they had long history and let their emotions lead the way even with all the facts laid out for them. jean grey died more than once because of it anyway, it was torture, so why would you want this girl who clearly has a chip on her shoulder need to command it? is there a jail that can hold something so powerful? my guess is no.

a hero is a hero by their overall actions and character and wolverine has taken up arms much more over the years in protecting all he could as oppose to harming except when he was brainwashed, which doesn't matter anymore considering all of that got eliminated with house of m and he has all of his memories back.

I don't think a hank pym movie would really work. he's never been a character that can hold his own series and the people that read comics are the die hard fans. if you can't get the people who usually jump on board to do so in the old format, chances are a big screen adaptation are a bigger gamble than you may expect.

that being said; he does need to be in the avengers. he should have been in avengers. avengers was perfect, i can't even get started how good it was, but it still could have used hank and janet at some capacity. whether he's a scientist tinkering in the background and she's just his girlfriend or something visiting, some sort of intro would've been nice because they are sort of way more important than black widow. look at hawkeye, hawkeye wasn't in any movie beforehand (thor does not count) and he did just fine. didn't need to be heavily established, fit in, missed the fact he was more ultimates as oppose to usual/better hawkeye but he still kicked crazy amounts of ass. that's what should have been done. at one point it seemed like a no-brainer when people were clamoring that nathan fillion, a whedon favorite, was possibly up for the role. add to the fact i read somewhere Morena Baccarin (again, another whedon favorite) was possibly being considered as van dyne it'd make sense. they could definitely pass for those characters, they work with whedon, and it'd be good. that's my two cents and i think it was just a missed opportunity because an ant man movie would be meh because ant man alone is already meh.

the only thing i did not like was that the story just seems to end. no real climax. other than that, pretty good. i get why he'd lecture her. he even said he felt he was too late to save frank. it seems just like daredevil to try to talk someone from doing the unthinkable.

i actually really hated this issue for so many reasons. the jim lee art is gorgeous sure, hell the captain marvel (shazam, whatever) back-up was also a nice touch (are they making that into a series or what) but this book confused and pissed me off badly.

at one point the JL had so many members and were really quite accepting, sure egos got in the way, but this was just plain cool-kid-crowd-and-you're-not-invited. especially with that unexplained, truly out of character, and impressively stupid cameo of martian manhunter. no. why would you do that? he was one of, if not the only, member to always be in the rotation as far as i can remember. and they show him attacking everyone? this is supposed to be tweaked and different, sure, but that is a bad kind of different. not interesting; bad. is he like that for some reason in stormwatch, i have no idea but all i can say is they did a huge disservice to a great character. am i overreacting to one panel; maybe, but that one panel and batman's whole "he didn't work out" spiel said enough enough to make me hate what they're implying has been changed with j'onn j'onzz.

The funny thing is that I remember reading a interview by Marvel officials a few years back saying that the day a 616-1610 crossover happens would be the day that Marvel has officially run out of ideas lol

i remember that same interview. i really hate this. the ultimate line was never supposed to be a pocket universe just an updated interpretation on the marvel line since the regular one had grown stagnant at the time.
