Things I Want to Read...

These are series (collected editions) which I plan on reading at some point. They are in no particular order and I'm adding them as they pop into my head. Please leave comments or suggestions on the ones I've added or those that need to be added.

List items

  • I hear all this good stuff about Neil Gaiman but don't immediately recognize anything I've read by him. This is his "masterpiece" so I've got to put it on the list.

  • More classics by Alan Moore (no pun intended), got to add this to the list. I have to admit this isn't a high priority for me to read. I'll eventually get to it. Is this wrong to say?

  • Saw the movie and assume the book is better, plus this is Alan More. What else can I say?

  • I got this first issue which was reprinted under the "What's Next?" banner for $1. I liked the first issue and have been meaning to follow up but haven't gotten around to it. I'll finish this series someday.

  • I have a hard time denying Vertigo books and this one always seemed interesting to me. I'll read it sometime and hopefully it's good. Anyone recommend this one?

  • This one comes highly recommended and is hard to think this many people would be wrong but I have reservations about this title. I also read the $1 #1 issue on the "What's Next?" banner. I wasn't impressed but is the first issue enough to judge the series? I doubt it..

  • I have only read a few Star Wars books (and it was a really, really, really long time ago). I don't know where to start on the series so I'll take the plunge somewhere and go from there. Any suggestions?

  • Read the first issue and liked the concept, just got busy and forgot this book (till now). I'll revisit it at some point.

  • I really, really, really dig Robert Kirkman's writing style but have had a hard time jumping into another super hero book. After a while all the characters start sounding the same and melding together. I have heard many good things about this series but haven't had the guts to start.

  • Got the first few issues (back in the 90s) and never kept up. I'll have to go back and give it another try.

  • Heard lots about this little known volume. Gotta love the humor and parody of this book (from what I've heard). Too bad this book is out-of-print. Guess gotta eBay this one when I get around to it.

  • I'm most definitely a Hellboy noob. I know nothing about this character other than what I learned in the movies. I most recently picked up Hellboy: The Storm and liked it. I don't know where to start on Hellboy but have heard about this series many times. Is this a good place to start?

  • Another classic that I need to get off my list to read. Now that the absolutes are published there's not an excuse anymore...

  • What's all the fuss about on this book? I have to read 100 issues to get this story? All those reviews/recommendations can't be wrong, can they? I'll have to tackle this story at some point.

  • This one sticks out like a sore thumb. So much has changed since the events of Civil War and not knowing the particulars of what happened sometimes can be a crutch. I have resisted reading a synopsis online, as I want to learn for myself. However the large number of issues, tie-ins, cross-overs, and supplemental material seem overwhelming. I don't know I'll just have to suck it up and give it a go.

  • See above ^^
