Has anyone ever suggested the actress who plays Xena?

Looking at this thread seems like a major contradiction to what I read on the news and from movie critics' review of the Spiderman movies. A lot of them seem to like Toby Maguire. I thought I was the only one who liked Andrew Garfield until I came here to this thread to find that I am in the majority.

Anyone else experience this?

I'm new to comics, but so far I've been spoiled with the writing of Scott Snyder and Robert Kirkman. I'm sure they won't be considered "All Time Greats" right now, but man sometimes I find myself preferring their writing over some of the past great ones.

The solution is simple: If they know it will make money for the big studios then it will get done. They can care less about having a coherent story for all the characters.

Also. I know that Mazzucchelli hates the recent deluxe version, but I see there are two covers for this deluxe versions. One with the mostly red cover and the other with the cover that the cartoon based its logo off of.

Which one is the one he hates...just curious?

I am interested in getting Batman: Year One in my quest to become updated with the Batman history. I have found at least 4 different covers of this and was wondering if you think it matters which one I get.

I know the story is the same, but what about differences in terms of value and minor changes to each edition. Should I just get the newest one or is it should I get an older edition hardcover? Opinions needed...Thanks!

Thanks. I'll do that, but after reading that last sentence, I'm wondering if you were trying to imply to me that it was a good, but not great story. I am deciding between this and Arkham Asylum. Between the two, what would you say is a better written story?

In prep for the Dark Knight Rises, I hope to purchase and read through the Knightfall story arcs. I know there is a chance the movie may have nothing do with the comic, but I want to read it because of the critical acclaim it has received and the value it has in the Batman history.

Anyway, unlike the Long Halloween, the Black Mirror, and other Batman stories, Knightfall seems to be available in three parts (Broken Bat, Who Rules the Night, and KnightsEnd). I thought the entire story arc was contained in one book, but instead it looks like I have to get all 3 parts. That is one long story arc because each book has, on average, close to 290 pages.

To make thing even more complicated, I see that DC released Knightfall volumes 1, 2, and eventually they will release volume 3. These appear to have more stories than the previous collected editions, but I am not more confused. Which collected editions should I get to read the Knightfall story arc, the one people rave about as one of the best Batman stories?

I'm surprised that Batman lost so many readers. I thought Batman New 52 series was critically acclaimed? Are they already going downhill?

Thanks for the replies all. I just wanted evidence for this notion that Marvel is adapting their comics to their movies instead of the other way around. I can see there are plenty of examples of that. If there are more I would love to know.

One thing I didn't want to do was to create a "Marvel-is-going-down-the-tubes" thread from this. In all honesty, I do wish Marvel comics stayed true to themselves. I wish they let good writers write their stories without limiting their creativity by having them adhere to what is popular with casual fans who have been watching the movies. It's a cheap way to get casual fans into buying their books, but I digress.
