Without a doubt I'd bring back K&Y's New X-Men and preserve most of the cast: Hellion, Dust, Rockslide, Mercury, Surge, Elixir, X-23, Anole, Pixie with cameos from the other students. Prodigy can show up eventually and bring along his buddy Speed.

My second choice would be All New X-Factor. I'd keep that cast, too, (i.e. Polaris, Quicksilver, Gambit etc) but I'd like to add Aurora to it. She rarely ever gets used well and Peter David is good at giving love to maligned characters. And imo Pietro and JM should hook up. haha

I second this entire thing

@poisonfleur: Well for me, the best comic out right now is Imperium from Valiant. So I suggest that. I would also suggest picking up the new Death Defying Doctor Mirage series from Valiant that started last month, and the Faith series that is about to drop. Pretty much anything you get from Valiant is going to be much better than the stuff that DC and Marvel is chugging out.

That being said, here are my other recommendations:

  • Providence
    • This is a Lovecraft style horror book that is amazing. Much better than Simone's Secret Six just because Avatar lets Moore have greater freedoms.
  • InSEXTS
    • This just started, but it is quality for sure
  • Monstress
    • Probably the biggest comic world building I have seen in a long time.
  • I Hate Fairlyand
    • This is really clever and creative
  • Mercury Heat
    • Really interesting Sci-Fi
  • The Zoohunters
    • Also amazing Sci-Fi
  • A Train Called Love
    • This is a raunchy comedy book, worth the money
  • Black Magick
    • Really interesting wiccan book.
  • We Can Never Go Home
    • Fun teenage adventure book that Bendis tried to get ANXM to be like (but failed horribly)
  • The Vision
    • I never recommend Marvel or DC, since they are not doing so hot right now, but this is completely unique to the mold.
  • Spider Woman
    • I have major nostalgia for this, since Spider Woman (1st volume), was the first full run I ever read (1-50).

@judasnixon: That is the series that got me into the X-Men, that and New Mutants. I loved the Cross-Time Capers arc. But as soon as Davis and Claremonte left, that book went to hell.

@poisonfleur: Those are definitely not the only good titles. Black Magick is great. We Can Never Go Home, Providence, Mercury Heat, A Train Called Love, I Hate Fairlyland. Every single book Valiant puts out is gold. Paper Girls, Zoohunters, Darth Vader, Spider Woman, The Vision, InSEXTS, Dreaming Eagles, They're Not Like Us, Clean Room, Monstress, Plutona, Descender, and Red Thorn.

You just need to broaden your horizons outside of positive CBR reviews my friend.

No. They have more to benefit from being in their own scope than they would as the MCU. Last thing we need is Avengers taking away roster spots from mutants.

Ugh...I just don't get Age of Apocalypse, its not really a story so much as it is a entire universe. Its like saying my favorite storystory is DC.

QFT!

I would replace AoA with The Fall of the Mutants

Rachel all the way. X23 is great, but Rachel has a much larger/interesting history within the continuity.

Polaris, no question!
