Part 2 - Moria
Map
Info
Alright guys, after your eventful evening, you travel the rest of the way to Moria. You will need to address how you will enter the sealed door and get past the Watcher in the Water.
If you are not familiar with Moria, or haven't watched LOTR in awhile, feel free to check out these refreshers from youtube:
- Moria is an enormous, sprawling labyrinth. It is likely around 40 miles across, but also built several levels high, with the mines tunneling miles deep into the mountains. Whilst we will be measuring your progress horizontally (across the map), keep in mind also that there are many staircases and vertical levels to the city.
- To get an idea for the height, width, and length of the city, check out this and this.
- It will be extremely difficult to travel through the city unless you have a guide or some other way of navigating. It can be expected that traveling through an area without any guidance, will take at least a day. If there are factors that would shorten your journey, you can make your case for them. If you are unsure of the layout of the city or any aspect of it, please ask for more information and I will do what I can.
- The interior of Moria is pitch black. There may be torches on some of the walls, but they are not lit. If you do not have any special senses, you will not otherwise be able to see. It can be assumed that all of your enemies can see perfectly in the dark.
- Your enemies will likely be spread out initially, unless they are all alerted to your presence, in which case they will attack (probably haphazardly) as a unit.
- Whilst it is possible to evade the notice of the Orcs, which are traveling about the place, it is highly unlikely that you will be able to navigate Moria without any guidance or light. The Orcs will naturally be drawn to any light source in the area.
- When you enter, you shall begin in The Great Delving Hall of Moria, as you are entering from Eriador.
Each area will contain:
1000 Orc Infantry
200 Orc Archers
30 Cave Trolls
The final bridge at the end (To Dimrill Dale), of course, will contain:
