I will be very sad if they end X23s comic shes bin going so well, i really wanted to see where she would go, i hope this isnt it for her and all the other titles
I cant believe this I love X23 and Daken I just cant fathom why they'd cancel her , and Daken , am also a huge fan of ,but i can to an extent understand why the sales dropped, ever since Rob Williams decided to take over daken has gone down hill ,turning daken into a monologueing, solipsistic, crippled druggy(well ex druggy but still) Rob ruined Daken he molded Daken into a completely unappealing character, i was afraid that would happen when he took over, and evidently hes had the same effect on Ghost rider who im a die hard fan for as well, im so upset i wanted to see Daken go further im very disappointed, the same goes for the other titles as well my heart goes out to those too i just wish there was something to do about it im sure those who are reading this feel the same :(
Well drug addiction in the comics only bothers me if its pertaining to a certain character,but this subject all falls with in the perimeters of personal preference. Which brings me to my next point on how i personally feel about Dakens new found addiction to this new and seemingly indigenous LA drug called ``Heat``. When Rob Williams decided to take over Daken Dark Wolverine i wasn't shaken at all by that notion because i thought well if this Rob guys gonna start writing Daken comics for a while things should get interesting but still maintain the fundamental aspects that make Daken well ..Daken.Unfortunetly Daken fell prey to this new drug, which he seemed to oh so joyfully welcome,which i find completly contradicts Dakens character.Daken is a manipulating,power hungry, hedonist who loves to be in control, but this drug is controlling him,its turned him into a solipsistic,nearly impudent ,drooling ``Heat drug fiend`` and it took a few issues and a midnight fashioned fisticuff thrashing from Moonknight for Daken to realize that. I personally would never do drugs regardless of whether or not i possessed a healing factor,but i am still a victim of drug abuse,...my dear ol mother was a drug addict and prostitute who sold herself for her next fix and subsequently i was the byproduct of her selfish endeavors along with a few of my other siblings most of whom i do not know.I hate my mother for what she did to me n my siblings i dont know my biological famly and born with birth defects because of her stupid decisions,born into this world as a mongrel,crack baby not born out of the love of 2 respectable individuals.But by no means do i let that part of my past define who i am ,I have transcended mother dearest and i will continue to do so.I didn't mean to go off topic like that i hope to the readers of my comments, it doesn't speculate anything to unnecessarily poignant. Further more my point being that drug addiction in comics all depends on how its portrayed and who its portrayed on.
Well im pretty clear that Dakens not turning to the side of rightfulness any time soon especially regarding the fact that hes just started his empire in Madripoor and is now trying to steal the current underground crime syndicate in LA from the Pride who ever they/or he/even she is.Possibly in the future like a Vol 2 or 3 he might transcend to something more of the anti-hero persuasion,well just have to wait and see.Back to my main point Daken is your quintessential hedonist bent on global conquest and ambiguous desire to watch the world burn,so folks hes not turning over a new leaf anytime soon.
If or when Frank tries to get his revenge on Daken(and im sure he will defiantly try again in the future) Im not sure how things will play out I love both characters(pretty much all marvel characters) but im certain neither of them are gonna die/killed.Secondly on another note hopefully Rob Williams gets Daken out of the shit hole he so eagerly threw him into or Daken wont be much of a threat to anyone.
