Favorite Luke Cage Comics

My favorite comics starring my favorite hero, Luke Cage. Can I get a Sweet Christmas?

List items

  • Cage's first villain encounter, and who better than an old friend from back in the day. Luke Cage crosses paths with his old friend Willis Stryker A.K.A. Diamondback. Diamondback is my favorite villain in Marvel due to the fact his skills are not super, but just honed. Also knife throwing is an oldschool African-American gangsta skill. I like the relation. Can I get a Sweet Christmas?

  • My man Luke lays the smack down on Doc Doom. Nuff said.

  • In this action packed episode we see the introduction of Curtis Carr, known in this comic as Chemistro. Curtis is an interesting character due to his vast intellect, and despite it never being mentioned, he would have to be one of the smartest in Marvel. He invented a gun that could change the chemical make-up of substances. Pure genious.

  • Luke Cage has taken up the alias of Power Man, and in this action packed episode he fights for its rights. This comic has a steady flow of panels showing my man Luke putting a hurting on the futurely known Atlas.

  • Another action oriented episode showing off Luke's ability to take and dish out punishment. The storyline isn't bad either.

  • Luke Cage is backed up by the extremely intellegent Curtis Carr. This episode marks the turning point in Curtis's career as he stops a new Chemistro using yet more technological advances. Cage also lays down some nice action scenes, as always.

  • Luke Cage meets Bill Carver A.K.A. Thunderbolt. An interesting partnership, and it would have been nice to have seen some future team-ups bewteen the two. To my dislike, Thunderbolt dies after their next interaction in a later episode.

  • Luke Cage meets Iron Fist, and it marks the beginning of a beautiful partnership.

  • This annual issue is one of my favorites. Its a straight up homage to oldschool 70s movies. Luke Cage faces off against Moses Magnum, and saves hot scientist. All in a day's work for Power Man.

  • Even though it is titled after the King of Wakanda, it is centered around and partially narrated by Luke Cage. The closes I've seen for an all Black Super team.
