Okay, so I'm a huge Superman fan. I have been ever since I was a small kid.
One thing has always burned in the back of my mind though. For him to be as invulnerable as he is, his body matter would have to be incredibly dense. So, with that in mind, how did he get so muscular? He would have to be bench pressing skyscrapers to get a work out.
In reality, it is one of those things you have to suspend your belief in reality on, but I do think about it all the time when reading Superman. LOL
Are you guys actually reading Aquaman? That "shirt" isn't orange. In new 52, it is made of gold that he looted from shipwrecks. That is covered early in the series.
Are you people crying about the editors nuts? They single handed saved the comic industry from being erased, and because a few creators that are not forward thinking want to whine, it is the editor's fault? Grow up fan boys! DC Comics is a business, meant to make money for them. Guess what? They are making money hand over fist! The entire industry is seeing new readers and followers in every corner.
I will admit in advance that I am extremely biased on this subject. To me Superman is the epitome of a hero - not just a superhero. He is selfless and caring, and always willing to do what is right - even when it makes Clark's life painful.
Let's face it. We live in a dark world. Society is more entertained by dark ideas and personas - i.e. Batman. As long as darkness is the norm, Superman will fail to be the most loved. I just hope he keeps striving to be that beacon of light.
In my opinion, the only way to make Superman comics good again is to go the sci-fi route. Nothing on earth is powerful enough to take him on. Helspont, Mongul, Lobo, Darkseid and many others could be hatching plots against earth (I guess they need a hook of some kind) that only Superman could address. Make Superman the true protector of Sector 2814!
It was a truly epic story (trilogy). I hope Batman is left to rest for a bit. Let's see a JLA movie with a different version of Batman, and let that play out. No need to rush straight into a new Batman franchise.
