because it appears on the cover and it's easier for newer members. Plus you can't just go changing titles all willy-nilly, it messes up the links. "
But why have you added a colon that doesn't exist anywhere in the book and why have you added a space before the colon which doesn't exist anywhere in the English language?

I just wanted to get some consensus on how you know the correct title and the correct punctuation of the title of any given comic book.

There are two competing suggestions. The first is that the title should be what it says on the cover of the book and the punctuation is arbitrary.

The second suggestion is that the title should be according the masthead inside the book and the punctuation should follow this strictly.

The title in dispute is the John Constantine book, Hellblazer. Despite Constantine's name appearing on the cover since the very beginning until today:

No Caption Provided

The text in the masthead contains the single word, "Hellblazer":

No Caption Provided

I, therefore, maintain that the title of this book is "Hellblazer", while another member thinks the book should be called "John Constantine - Hellblazer" or "John Constantine: Hellblazer".

Please let me know what you think.

Cheers.

Don't know if this is a new one or not, but  a few days in and I'm still unable to add new volumes. Any suggestions? I'm using Firefox.

Really?
http://www.comicvine.com/sons-of-trigon/65-55893/

Are we so unfamiliar with the concept of adding a simple "s" to a word to make it plural that we have to add a gratuitous and wholly erroneous apostrophe?

Why aren't we able to edit a character's name? I can edit the name of a title, why not a character as well?

Thanks.

Wow. Absolute silence. Impressive.

Any chance of a ruling?

Now that almost every issue of every series gets collected in a trade paperback, do we really want to include separate entries in the database for these collections?

I would say "no", but I'm keen to hear what you think.

I'm not talking about comics that reprint earlier comics with new cover artwork.
I'm also not talking about original graphic novels (which should appear only once, not as separate entries for hardback and paperback).

I'm talking about graphic collections which exist solely to collate a mini-series or complete storyline.

This was kind of discussed before here: http://www.comicvine.com/submission-guidelines/12-40430/what-about-trade-paperbacks/92-19921/, but I don't see a real decision or conclusion.

Can we get a ruling please and make a decision about things like this:

Thanks.

Er... like every issue from #538-573.

Part of the problem is that you don't have an Early- or Late- option in the date field like some of your competitors and ASM loves to publish more than once a month over the Summer.

Nevertheless, you should be able to work out who is doing this and privately ask them to stop. It's not the first time this has happened and I'm pretty sure it's the same guy.

Someone has gone through a bunch of issues and systematically messed up all the dates.

Guys, whoever is vandalizing the database for the 3 points per time that they get to screw with things needs their head examined.

Please, whoever did this, stop.

Can the admins do a mass revert to the correct issue date or is the same person going to get points now for changing all the dates back?

I'm tired of good work being corrupted by a few idiots.

None of the internal links to volumes, issues or characters are working. Whatever I click I get a blank page with the following:

500, style me DAVE!!!!!

Right now I can only see the forum and user profile pages.
