Electro Vs. Spider-Man: Part 1 0

Electro isn’t really that well know in among casual Spider-Man fans and this could be explained by one of two reasons. It could well be because he did not appear in the most famous animated series that just about everybody knows or it’s because he appears in only two comics in the first one hundred issues of The Amazing Spider-Man. Story- Aunt May is in the hospital and whilst Peter is by her side a new criminal is out on the streets, he is Electro who acts as a conductor for electri...

When Ivy isn't happy about something, everyone knows. 1

The third comic in the series focuses on the one of the very few female characters in the Batman comics, Poison Ivy. The story deals with Ivy who goes on a killing spree, she targets real estate developers who built houses over a forest she once liked to walk through. This one does something a little different; it scraps the idea of Batman being the hero and makes the villain the hero. Yes, Poison Ivy is the hero of the story and it works very well for what it’s worth. The strange styl...

The weakest of the Civil War story arcs... 1

Each character, or in this case group of characters, gets their own series of comics surrounding the Civil War. It is nice to see how the Civil War has affected each and every character/group of characters and here we have an opportune time here to explore the Anti-Mutant registration act but alas no, what we in fact have is a rather weak plot that seems quite unnecessary and to be perfectly honest, lazy. There are four issues in this collection, the first two being the best of the four. The tens...

Review of the entire Friday the 13th: Bloodbath Story Arc 0

I’m not the biggest fan of the Friday the 13th franchise but I thought that giving the comic book series a try and I am very glad I did because it was one of the nicest surprises I have had in the last few months. The plot follows a group of usual stereotypical teenagers who are going to help a group of disadvantaged children but they have a week to prepare the camp. They all get on really well, a little bit too well they start to discover like they are perfectly matched and then Jason Voorhees s...

Review of the entire Halloween: Nightdance Story arc 0

Over the years Michael Myers has killed countless numbers of people and animals and as of late his murder sprees have become somewhat of a bore because they always fail at making the character’s likable and the audience ends up cheering him on. Now that’s all good and well in theory but isn’t the point of a horror film supposed to be fear? Well it’s a good thing that Michael Myers saga has been carried on in comic book form because it’s a damn good place to be able to explore the characterisatio...

Freddy's War Story Arc Review 0

Everyone’s favourite dream stalker is back but this time he is appearing in Wildstorm’s Nightmare on Elm Street comic book series which has been split up into different story arcs. The first story arc is Freddy’s War and it spans only three issues. The plot follows Jane, her brother Brad and their father who have only just moved to Elm Street, Springwood. It starts off very fast gets straight to the point; there is no room for character development here. Comic #1 isn’t anything too special just wh...

The Charmed ones are back... 0

When did carrying on a television show in comic book form become a fad? It has been happening for years but lately it has become more abundant and sometimes it makes sense to do so and sometimes it doesn’t. Charmed is one of those times where it makes a lot of sense. The comic takes place 18 months after Season 8 ended, or happily ever after as it affectionately referred to. The Halliwell sisters are trying to live their lives and bring up the next generation of witches but that is proving a lot ...
