Ideal Teen Team

Think of an amalgamation between the Teen Titans and the Young Avengers, but with team members from other publishers. That's what we're going for. Also going to include the roles that each team member plays. Got the idea from Liberty's Ultimate Superhero Team. The team will be split up into two separate teams of five, one being the main field team (the first six), the other being the secondary field team. The first six will basically serve as the main Justice League, whereas the second six will be the Avengers side; just as effective, but deployed where the other team can't be.

List items

  • Red Robin: The Strategist, The Resourceful One, and the Team Leader of Team One (Teen Titans). Can't have a team without him. Whether it's as Robin or Red Robin, he still fits.

  • Young Omni-Man, Oliver Grayson: The Half-Blood Son of Omni-Man, Hot-Headed Heavy-Hitter; Heroic, yet morally stunted superhero. Maybe Invincible would have been a better choice, were he not the type of character who works more effectively on his own. In this situation, Oliver would be placed on Team One by Invincible in order for him to learn the value of human life by working alongside people who can actually keep up with him. He wouldn't be as keen to the idea of working alongside others, and would definitely be quick to jump the gun ahead of everyone else. Think of a combination between Damian Wayne and Superboy.

  • Static, Virgil Hawkins: The Smart Guy, the Moral Center, and the Human Superconductor. I honestly don't think you can have a good teen team without this guy. When written well, he's an amazing character.

  • Fairchild: Secondary Heavy-Hitter, Field Strategist, and the unofficial co-leader of the team. I would have gone with Wonder Girl, but like Superboy, I just find her to be a generally more interesting character. Her backstory and character are much deeper than Cassie, and she's just flat out smarter than her, providing even more depth to her character. Plus, I honestly think that she and Static would have a pretty great dynamic between them. They would both perceive themselves as being the more normal members of the team, despite having superpowers. Would be the one who keeps Oliver in line whenever he proposes a solution a bit too pragmatic for the team's taste.

  • Tech Jacket, Zack Thompson: The Intergalactic Guardian of Earth, the Space Guy, and Galactic Swiss-Army Knife. It was either him or Blue Beetle, and to be honest, I find Tech Jacket's story to make for a more interesting plot than Jaime's. He'll still be on the secondary team, just not the only guy with a symbiotic suit technological suit from space. Plus, he could serve as the guy who is more familiar with the going ons of space wars and whatnot, along with Invincible. Plus, the guy has his own space station, which could serve as team one's headquarters, in addition to being awesome. Plus, I just love this guy as a character. Community college drop-out, has a falling out with his alien princess girlfriend because they don't have compatible "parts", and has his fair share of badass moments. This dude's the coolest loser on the team.

  • Raven: The Daughter of Trigon, the Anti-Anti Christ, and team one's Magic User. I don't really need much of a reason to put her on the team, but if it's necessary, then I'll go ahead and give one. Just like Tech-Jacket is the link between team one and intergalactic affairs, Raven would serve the same purpose for the magical realm and all that.

  • Patriot, Elijah Bradley: Leader of Team Two, primarily serves as their Field Strategist, and the Super-Soldier. He can be a bit of a dick at times, but when push comes to shove and people need saving, this dude's competence level skyrockets. Would definitely have an entertaining back and forth with Kid Flash as the straight man of the two.

  • "Sister Grimm", Nico Minoru: Co-leader of Team Two, Team Two's Magic User, and the unofficial den-mother of the team. I was thinking either her or Wiccan, and in the end, I realized that she's a better choice for it, if only because the role of apocalypse maiden has already been filled by Raven. Plus, I prefer her to Wiccan since latey, Wiccan's character has slowly become slightly more annoying. The person who consoles the team members whenever they're having doubts about themselves, and would be one of the only ones who is quick to question Patriot's decisions.

  • Kid Flash, Bart Allen: Resident Speedster, is the wise guy in his comedy routine with Patriot, and the surprisingly thoughtful member of the team. I was thinking either Wally West or Bart, and since Wally has yet to make a genuine debut in the New 52, and Bart is a slightly more interesting character as Kid Flash. Wally reached his peak as The Flash; Bart suits the role much better than he did.

  • X-23, Laura Kinney: The Berserker, the combatant, and the front-line infantryman of the team. Again, it was between her and Cassandra Cain, and she won over on the merits of both her powers, and her rage alone.

  • Rocket, Raquel Ervin: The team's voice of reason, out-spoken partner of Icon, and often the member of the team to propose a solution that everyone else have already overlooked. An amazing character who deserves more recognition, she'd join the team after proving her worth while they're in a difficult situation. Also she'd be one of the only two fliers on the team.

  • Genesis, Evan Sabahnur: Team Two's Heavy, Mutant Representative, and voice for the more sympathetic supervillains. This one was a difficult choice, if only because a team of "jump-first" people like this (with the exceptions of Rocket and Nico) makes it hard to come up with a character who can compliment the already set dynamic. Do you go with the one who would challenge the authority of the leader and the nature of the team itself (like Supergirl, Lyra, or Robot, my other choices), or the soft-spoken, sleeping giant who, when everyone else says "LET'S JUMP LET'S GO", says "Maybe we can just sit back?" That's Genesis. Plus, seeing as how he's the clone of a known supervillain, the team would be a good way of committing himself to the idea he has of becoming this Superman archetype, no longer having any doubts of becoming a supervillain because he knows he's nothing like his template. And that's why I like him.
