Misty's Politoed
At first it was caught as a Poliwag in the Orange Archipelago, whose helpfulness at getting an antidote for paralysis ensure that Misty added it to her team of pokemon. Poliwag later evolved into Poliwhirl when battling Ash's Bulbasaur for the ownership of a Totodile, who would later be under the ownership of Ash anyway. After Plowhirl lost to a Poliwrath in a pokemon battle, Misty considered evolving her own pokemon, unbeknownst to her that it has picked up the king's rock that Ash had won earlier on. After not seeing her pokemon, due to taking it to the pokecentre to be healed, she had no idea it had evolved into Politoed until she next released it from it's pokemon. Becoming one of her most frequently used pokemon, Politoed's eager, happy and enthusiastic personality was able to shine through.
