Paul Gillon was born in 1926, and was a prominent French comic artist and author. Co-Creator (along with Jean-Claude Forest) of the science fiction cosmic opera series, Naufragés du Temps (Lost in Time) and the erotic comic series, La Survivante (The Survivor). Other titles worked on are Jérémie, Lynx Blanc, Wango, Les Léviathans and more. In 1982, Gillon won the Grand Prix de le ville d'Angoulême, for his achievements in the evolution of comics, an award also given to such talents as Will Eisner, Jean "Moebius" Giraud, Robert Crumb, and more recently, Katushiro Otomo, Art Spiegelman and Bill Watterson. Gillon passed away in 2011.
