    One Piece: Episode of Luffy - Adventure on Hand Island (ONE PIECE: エピソード オブ ルフィ ~ハンドアイランドの冒険~, Wan Pīsu: Episōdo obu Rufi - Hando Airando no Bōken -) is a special OVA produced by TOEI Animation and it originally aired on TV in Japan directly after One Piece Episode 576. and the same day ONE PIECE FILM: Z was released in theaters. It was later released on DVD and Blu-ray on March 22, 2013, at a price of ￥4,725 (DVD) and ￥5,775 (BD). The special collector's edition that was released on March 22, 2013 was priced at ￥6,300 (DVD) and ￥7,350 (BD).

    Unlike the previous character episode, One Piece: Episode of Nami - Tears of a Navigator and the Bonds of Friend, that summarized previous events. This special is a non-canon side story along with a retelling of the original Romance Dawn story. This version more follows the canon of the manga. More so than when it was first animated. However, many of the more graphically violent scenes were not shown.
