James-Michael – trapped and alone! Without Amber and Omega being there to protect him, James-Michael must rely on his mysterious omega powers to survive against the Wrench…
Omega the Unknown races through alien soldiers, a series of philosophical thoughts he has had before racing through his own mind. Except now he thinks of James-Michael Starling's friends, and their troubles, as well.
When Ruth comes in to check on James-Michael, who wakes from a dream of Omega, he responds in a frustrating manner, which she in turn says is annoying, like dealing with a robot. For the first time, he wonders if that is what he is.
He walks out into the night to think, and runs into various complicated denizens of the night, and is even mistaken for a child prostitute by another streetwalker.
Meanwhile, Omega is out with Gramps and his friends, where they try to get him to socialize and drink. They walk Gramps' friend Mamie home, but soon after they leave, they hear her scream. After breaking in through the window, they find her dead at the hands of Wrench. Wrench smacks Omega and runs off.
When Amber returns from a date, she finds James-Starling is missing, and goes off to look for him. She finds him at a pinball parlor where he is about to be beaten up. As they go home, they are accosted by Wrench. Omega intervenes but Wrench shoots him. Amber tries to knock him out, but Wrench shrugs her off. James-Michael then shoots him with his Omega blasts.
