Most people seem to of forgotten about Nova. We saw Nova's first (and only appearance so far) in AvX in the first issue. I believe Nova still has a role yet to play in future issues which might play a crucial part in how things will end for this event. I would like to think that they didn't pick on Nova just for a quick appearance to signal the coming of the Phoenix force, but knowing Marvel, it's is highly probable that they just used him for the first issue only. What do you guys think? Should Nova have a role yet to play in this? If so, what would you like to see happen?
Nova
Character » Nova appears in 1102 issues.
Richard Rider was a young teenager when he was granted the power of a Nova Centurion. He would have many adventures both on his own and with his peers among the New Warriors; Richard even became a member of the Avengers ever so briefly. He eventually became Nova-Prime, leader of the Nova Corps, where he established himself as a universally cosmic hero of immense power.
AvX: Nova's role
@stu: It's a different Nova. As far as we know, Richard Rider is still dead\trapped between dimensions\partying with Starlord or whatever
The Nova in AvX is Sam Alexander, who, if the .1 issue is anything to go by, says things like 'epic fail' when lots of people die... so yeah,. I kind of hope they leave him in a coma
Yeah same, I take back this thread.@Cosmic_Hobo: just read the sam alexander profile....yea....not what i expected..... :(
Haha nah its cool, thanks for the info. Much appreciated ;)Sorry for being the bearer of bad news:(
@TDK_1997: Although I only know Richard Rider from Annihaltion and the Thanos Imperitive, I'd much prefer Rider's return than this new character. Star-Lord and Thanos have been brought back by Bendis' machinations, why not Richard Rider? He's a far better character than this Nova who only serves as a tribute to Jeph Loeb's son who passed away from cancer. Sam Alexander is the Nova in Ultimate Spider-Man (another one of Loeb's mistakes) and I fear they'll push this Nova instead of bringing back the one everybody loved.

@Lvenger: That's Marvel, they never do waht the fans want.
You say you don't want another event next year? Well here's another money grabbing book with little depth, development or consequences!
Of course I want another event.I love them. They are my favorite.

And Thanos. Both in Avengers Assemble by Bendis, which is apparently cannon. So two questions - How did they escape the Cancerverse, and where the f**k is Richard Rider???
no scans brah sorry ive only see what ive read on the internet. thanos and star lord came back in an avengers crossover. nova nowhere to be seen. i hear blackbolt's back as well now an all. anyone hear if vulcan will be returning aswell?
im thinking nova must be back because the worldmind stayed behind in the cancerverse with rider. yet we see a nova centurion during avx. how can this be if the worldmind is trapped with rider in the cancerverse? you tell me bendis, you tell me...
