Nightmask was an ongoing series starring Keith Remsen aka Nightmask. Surviving a terrorist attack that killed his parents, Keith soon discovers that he has strange and wonderful powers, primarily involving his entering the dreaming minds of other people. After Keith Remsen's paranormal powers became apparent, psychologist Lucian Ballad convinced him to use said power to help the sanity of others, via their dreams. To this end, he set up the Ballad Dream Institute in order to achieve this in a professional, scientific environment.

The series ended after 12 issues, not due to poor sales, but rather due to the instability and lack of commitment from creators. Issues rarely featured the solicited contents and within the space of 12 issues there were multiple fill-in issues - as early as the third issue in the series! A fairly unique concept for it's time, perhaps recognised as such, Nightmask continued to appear in Marvel books as the star of back-up stories in other books and took centerstage in The Draft graphic novel despite his ongoing's cancellation.

    Collected in Nightmask: New Universe.
