    Super Freedy isn't so super.

Like I said before Nightmare on Elmstreet movies rank from good, to ok , to terribly poor. This is one of the dumber films with the classic dream slasher. The film of coarse revolves around teenagers caught up in the chaos that Krueger brings. The film starts out with the lead Actress playing a girl named, Alice having a dream about taking a shower which seems like a rather strange thing to dream about and Freddy almost drowns her but she breaks through the shower and falls in some kind of asylum with 100 maniacs and a nun getting malested by the inmates. She wakes up and is haunted by this rather strange dream. Later on she finds out the nun was Freddy's mother. Alices boyfriend ends up dying by Freddy's attacks. After he died Alice relizes she's pregnant and the doctors and very brief when they give her the news, "You're allitle pregnant."  Yes that is really what they said. Alice's friends are also pursued by the Super Emeril Krueger. Ok one of the deaths is him feeding someone to much food where she basically gags and chokes to death and her comic book lover friend dies by Super Freddy, Freddy Krueger making a joking parody of Superman. The problem with this film is the deaths are so ridiculously unfrightning it could definitely make someone question if this was a horror film. The story is a bit strange too ; he somehow makes a baby of himself and Alice must find Amanda Krueger, Krueger's mother nun to save the day. Freddy also seems to helpless at parts like he can't chase after Alice and her friend because he's afraid his mother will find him. So in conclusion I think A Nightmare on Elmstreet : The Dream Child is entertaining for a good laugh but if your looking for story or horror you won't find it in this nightmare of a film.

Most film concepts don't hold up beyond a trilogy - fourth films are generally bad. Fifth films are usually even worse, and the Nightmare on Elm Street series is no exception. Like Rocky V, and Star Trek V (both of which came out around the same time), A Nightmare on Elm Street 5: The Dream Child takes it's series to a new low. This slickly produced (some would say overproduced) entry in the series features the worst acting by the supporting cast of teen actors in the series so far, which is sayi...
