Solid issue; Mutants done right 5

New Mutants is a series I've been getting into lately, as it manages to avoid a lot of problems team books have: these people have known each other and teamed together for a long time, so the petty squabbles just don't happen often enough to be annoying. The Good I'm glad they've continued the Cannonball/Moonstar romance from an initial drunk kiss to something a little more permanent. I like Sam a lot as a character, so seeing good things come his way makes me happy. Seeing him get recognition a...

A new book, and a solid start. 0

This is my first foray into the New Mutants, but I'm already liking it. The cast is a little mix of VERY familiar to me(Dani Moonstar, Karma, Cypher), and some not so much(Warlock, Magick, Magma). I love the concept behind the new arc, that being Cyclops using the team as a means to clean up all the loose ends the X-teams inevitably leave behind in their adventures. That is a SOLID premise that I'm honestly shocked hasn't been used somewhere else earlier. All of the characters were likeable enou...

    Color Me Interested 0

First off just let me say this was the best issue of the New Mutants in some time. Its a good jumping point for the uninitiated and as the title says a new direction for those of us already familiar with the title and the characters.  To start with the covers and the variants were all good and eye catching.  I espically enjoyed the Marko Djurdjevic cover with all the main characters.I really liked the way the story opened with the urgency on the team send after the Nimrod fragment . With all the...

    Sweetness!! 0

Cover: I really like two page covers, so it's pretty cool here.  I also like the variants with the X-Man one being my favorite. The Good: There was a lot of great things about this issue, most of it lying on the realism of the portrayal of the characters as well as the depiction of each of the individual team members.  I had started reading this series when Age of X started so there's a lot I need to catch up on prior to this, since this is pretty much the first time I'm introduced to a lot of ...

Must You Scream, Nathan? I'm Trying To Work Here. 4

I'm not an expert on the New Mutants but I know life hasn't been easy on the team lately. When I picked up the title with issue #15 the New Mutants were just picking themselves up from the events of Second Coming only to find that they now had to deal with General Ulysses and his Project Purgatory. Now that the Age of X has happened members of the New Mutants find themselves wondering if they are going to be a team for much longer. Sam is out of commission for the moment, Shan is de...
