Neil Gaiman is one of my favorite writers ever. Sandman (one of my favorite comics ever, and incredibly well-written), American Gods, Neverwhere, Anansi Boys... all amazing. And if you haven't read it, go out and buy Good Omens by him and Terry Pratchett. One of my favorite books of all time. If Neil Gaiman isn't a God, he's pretty much as close as a man can get.

@Vance: Have you ever even read anything he's written?

I recommend Good Omens to anyone who can read. I have owned 3 or 4 copies, because every time I lend one out I never get it back. Can't say I blame my friends. It is a very good book.

His work on Eternals and Marvel 1602 were also pretty good, IMO. 1602 didn't get enough love. Nothing near Sandman, but still good reads.

By the way Aztek, all things Stardust are based on the novel.

You saying good lord as if I made a big deal over it..I made one comment. You co-signed your statement saying to you he is God in comics..so don't act like i'm over-exaggerating.
@ Anyone who thinks I haven't read anything he's written. He wrote Stardust correct? Do I have to have read Sandman to know how good of a writer he is? More to the point even if he is the best writer in comics ever..."GOD" is still overboard.serious or not.

If people can consider Stan Lee and Jack Kirby "gods", Neil Gaiman is easily in the pantheon. And yes, you really should read Sandman to get a feel of how good he is. If Stardust is the only thing Gaiman-related that you have read, you really have no feel for what an awesome story-teller he is.

Wow, nevermind.  I stand corrected.  I looked it up and, though it was conceived as a novel, it was released as a comic first!  I never knew that.

I wanted to bump this to do a spoiler free Review of THE GRAVEYARD BOOK

The book was pure enjoyment for me, read it at home and mostly at work when work had died down. It may have started out a little bit corny but it kept me hooked from the moment they introduced Silas and the Sleer. At times I couldnt put it down and even tho it was a shorter book than im used to (300 not including the Words from Neil). And the idea of Bod was just awesome how he is what he is, and why he cannot do certain things. The book in itself was a mix of Suspence, and a thriller with a little bit of kid like story but thats only with some of the instances.

And the characters were AWESOME, Bod was outshined in my eyes by a number of the supporting characters in the book especially Miss Luescu. The revelation in one little part of the book about Miss Lupescu just slapped me in the face at "WHAT SHE IS A WHAT?" (people who look at her name closly will get it).

Alot of the book was more "Dont trust what your eyes show you" kind of feel to it and I LOVE these kinds of books. The concept of JOAT(abb of something i shall not reveal u must read it) was just superb. Reminded me alot of LAS lmao but it still was an intrigueing book.

MUCH Props to our man Neil, he is a genius when it comes to books and I shall be reading many more of his novels now. I Recommend this as A

BUY!! BUY THIS BOOK if you are any fan of Neil Gaiman BUY THIS F@#KING BOOK!!!

Ive just been the happiest person in the freaking world

"Neil Gaiman confirmed on The Today Show, January 27 2009, that Neil Jordan had signed to write and direct the film of the book."

@Dollface: We shall always welcome new believers to the flock with open arms. Which would be your favorite Gaiman novel of the ones you've read so far? Don't worry my child, there is no wrong answer to the question for all his work is deemed worthy of praise, though The Sandman is our Holy Bible.

@Dollface: The Sandman is a step above, I must agree, I wrote a paper on it for English and re-read the trades, ah, it was magnificent. However, I just found out this year they're beginning to re-release the trades with the new coloring from the Absolute Edition! My dream come true. AGH! I don't have all the money in the world! So I am torn.

@Dollface: No, my child, I am not strict, I simply channel the One True God and must not let his people grow lax in their faith. For as you know, gods gain power from their worshipers, only The Endless can exist without belief. So we MUST believe!!
