Mongul murdered Miri's husband Kered while they were on their Honeymoon.
After failing to kill Green Lantern & Green Arrow on Earth, Mongul Junior and his sister retreated back to their home world of Debstam IV, where they got into an argument over their father's Black Mercys. Mongal stating their father left his "babies" for both of them to use. WHile looking at a family photo Junior stated that family was a weakness and beheaded Mongal with an attack from behind.
