I've heard rumors pointing to the affirmative, but I'm not sure if they're anything more than rumors.

There was going to be one, directed by Peter Jackson, but it got cancelled (or it's in development hell). There was also going to be a TV mini-series, but that got cancelled too, I think.

there are a bunch or rumors. I wouldn't be too surprised, but there needs to be a good script  for the movies behind it if they ever make it Right now there is nothing set in stone so it is not affirmative.

Ya it wouldn't surprise me either, Halo is making a ton of money for Bungie and Microsoft. And if Bungie is left to decide on the movie over Microsoft I would trust it more, after all it truly is Bungie's baby and they'll do it right. But live action I  think they'd be better of doing a CGI movie I mean look at Halo Wars the cut scenes are perfect and don't look kiddy animated. It would be perfect for a feature length movie in the theather and Halo has a big enough following to pull it off.

I can't think that it would be a good movie in theaters but. If they made a cartoon or CGI film like star wars did I think it would be very good."

I really hope they make a Halo movie.

It'd either be a Halo: Combat Evolved movie or a Halo: Fall of Reach movie.

There will be one for sure. Peter Jackson there would be, but I'd rather him direct the movie.

I don't get why people would think it wouldn't be good? The story itself is great. When you combine the story and visuals from the game and put it into the camera it's a winning situation. I can seriously see this becoming a movie. The games have that realistic feeling. It's made to be put on screen. This isn't Dragonball where it's far beyond to making a great film. And with Jackson and his crew on the job, I can't see why it couldn't work. He made great films with LOTR and King Kong, he can do it again.

They are making a Halo animated movie. I saw a movie preview a few months ago. Here's a link to the animated movie site. Release date is  Feb 2010. Just a couple months away.
