Seems like the Souls Gems and the Rings share similar powers including:
i) Energy Blasts and Manipulation
ii) Enhancement of Psychic Ability
iii) Molecular Manipulation
iv) Light Control
v) Elemental Control
An interesting theory... the rings are "alien" in origin, like the gems.... can't recall... but are the Rings color-coded too? It's feasible that Mandarin's rings were created using the Gems... or were perhaps created based on inspiration from the Gems/Gauntlet
I don't believe there's any connection there. I mean it's possible but I don't recall them ever connecting the two, then again I wouldn't call myself a comic book expert by any stretch of the word.
Everyone keeps thinking they'll have to change the rings for the MCU, but they don't get that they were already alien tech!
I'm surprised Stark never used them as a device to combat the Infinity Gauntlet. After all he would've commandeered them from the Mandarin on several occasions.

I don't believe there is any relation but I have always thought of the Ten Rings almost as the lite version of the Gauntlet. Similar in concept but much weaker and with half the calories
@hellblaz3rtherazemach1ne: Nothing particularly special because having the infinity gauntlet would make the rings a moot point. The rings would not add power to the gauntlet as they are infinitely more powerful than the rings themselves. At best, they would be a good back up in case someone somehow got the infinity gauntlet taken from them or destroyed and needed to use the rings to get out of dodge.
@bradwilk: ah I see, though I know this logically couldn't happen, imagine someone possessing all the lantern rings except for black and white, along with the other rings. If that could actually possibly work out, things would be awesome
