Up to this point Martian Manhunter powerset is so over the top, that's no wonder many people simply don't like him has a character.
Not only he's a Superman knock-off, but he's given pretty much every power there is. Even his weakness to fire was dramatically reduced.
He gets desintegrated and later we find out he had made "spare parts" of himself has a backup.
It would be like Lex killing Superman with green K and then someone or one of the fortress robots brought the body to the fortress exposed him to a gem or diamond kryptonite and Superman would resurrect.
More than once I've made it clear that like J'onn has evolved over the years, so should Superman. But people don't want to hear any of it.
And then we have characters like MM that has pretty much every powerset and if he doesn't have it at the time, he eventually evolves to have it and everyone fine with it.
The double standards are clear as water, even though most would say there's no double standards.
@heavenlydarkdragon: true but psychokinesis is actually something j'onn has always had from the beginning,
if you go back far enough to the silver age PK was in his original power set (before martian vision and all the superman knock off powers) and MMH has always been like this tbh MMH became like an experiment of what superman could have been like if the writers were aloud to just keep giving him new powers, its hasn't exactly done him a a lot of favours but at least his character has become better established over the years even if DC are currently trying to ruin it
