    Major Story Arcs

    Suicide Squad

Herrs works as a psychiatrist with the inmates of Belle Reve. She becomes increasingly fascinated with the assassin Deadshot, requesting that she be allowed to be the only psychiatrist to take his sessions.

    Beginnings

When Deadshot takes leave from the Suicide Squad to search for his kidnapped son, Marnie also takes leave and begins investigating his history. She travels to his hometown where she attempts to speak with his father, George, who has her thrown off the property by the sheriff, Joe Truscott. Truscott proves a valuable source of information himself, telling her of Deadshot's brother's death, and Deadshot's suspected involvement. She speaks to the butler Bartholomew, and attempts to speak to Deadshot's mother, Genevieve. She is initially rebuked, but breaks into the old lady's house and manages to extract a story from her. This story is immediately refuted when Deadshot arrives and reveals that she ordered him and his brother to kill their father. Marnie convinces him not to kill his mother, and he cripples her instead. After they return to the prison she is distraught when Deadshot refuses to speak to her, as he believes he cannot be saved.

    Final Round

Marnie strenuously objects to allowing Deadshot back into the field, due to his having been rendered mentally unstable by the events surrounding his son's death. Despite her recommendations, Amanda Waller allows him to be sent out into the field. Frustrated, Herrs resigns her position in Belle Reve.
