I've never been much of a Superman fan either, but Kingdom Come and Red Son gave me some respect for him. Still not a favorite of mine, but you def. have to give props to the first superhero.
He could have easily picked and chosen just to work for DC and/or Marvel but he's always expanding, offering a diverse amount of QUALITY stories. I MUST get IRREDEEMABLE, I don't know why I've not previously seen or heard about it but now that I have, I am absolutely intrigued. I LOVE that idea--A LOT. Again--Babs--nice job. You must have skates or Wonder Woman's speed because you've really been racking up the interviews!!
I love Mark Waid's work like what he did with the Flash in Terminal Velocity and of course Kingdom Come. Definitely one of my Top 5 writers.
I wish WB would get him to script a Superman movie, cause it seems like he understands how to humanzie Superman.
Also, Babs if you love Kingdom Come as much as I do. I highly recommend you look for the Kingdom Come audio cassette tapes that they did. Where they had excellent voice actors and sound effects in it. It's amazing I use to listen to it while I would be driving. lol
Mark Waid is one of the absolutely best comic writers in history in my opinion. Everything he does is epic and is one of the few writers whose work is impossible for me to let me wait for the trade.
It kills me the fact that my comic shop only gets Boom titles in TP because otherwise I would have already tried (and likely loved) Irremedeable and the Unknown
