    Honeymoon and Death

After Maria married Hank, they decided to spend their honeymoon back in Hungary, convinced Maria's new American citizenship would protect her from persecution. Unfortunately, it did not. She was arrested and seemingly executed not much later. This caused considerable trauma to Hank Pym, whom swore revenge.

However, Hank was unaware that Maria was also pregnant with his child at the time. Maria gave birth to a girl, who was later named Nadia and whom (many years later) became the All New Wasp. It is presumed that Maria was killed right after giving birth, since Nadia has no memory of her.

Later stories have Pym commenting on Wasp (Janet Van Dyne) resembling Maria in appearance. Maria was much later impersonated by Olinka Barankova (MODAM).
