Manchester believed that a stronger stance had to be taken against villainy, and that the moral beliefs of costumed heroes prevented them from doing any real good.

    "What's So Funny About Truth, Justice, and the American Way?" - This issue written by Joe Kelly (Best known for his run on Action Comics and Deadpool) is the first appearance of Manchester Black and his team known as: The Elite. The issue goes into detail about his past life and why he and The Elite kill criminals.

    "Ending Battle" - This story arc crosses over with different Superman titles and focuses on Manchester Black getting revenge on Superman for what he did to him and his team back in "What's So Funny About Truth, Justice, and the American Way" by having some of Superman's enemies including Silver Banshee, Master Jailer, and Mongul attack Superman's allies and loved ones. The story is really intense and has cool action scenes especially towards the end and shows why Manchester Black is a deadly enemy for Superman.
