Manthing is about as ugly as he is himself
Wow. I was getting ready to see this film thinking ok I know this won't be good but how bad can it be. And found out it was even worse than i had originally thought it would be. It is suprising this film has even been in theaters it seems more like one of those cheap low budget movies just created by the Sci Fi channel but no this actually showed in theaters. The movie starts out with some indian guy I think talking about how evil oil drillers are and automatically laugh to myself thinking oh my gosh this is like some eco movie and I guess it is saying that all the pollution somehow created a monster like Manthing they say the swamp used to be beautiful but honestly when are swamps ever beautiful. I'm very sure they got Manthing's origin wrong in this film. In the film it makes it like seem as though he was some creature sent by otherworldly forces to protect the swamp from pollution and greedy southern hicks. Ga Ea probably sent him heh heh. Well anyway it starts with some hillbilly redneck kids having a party in the swamp and a guy and his girlfriend wander around in the swamp and get attacked by Manthing and the cheesy southern accents are just down right funny. Anyway the sheriff of the swamp in louisiana call a city cop to check the place and find a bunch of hippie people trying to protect the swamp and the city cop takes one into custody but lets her off easy . Allot of the movie steryotypes rednecks as being stupid,racist,hicks I don't like rednecks but not every southerner is racist. The city cop continues to investigate these murders made by Manthing the people try covering up the attacks and say that they are the people were all killed by crocodiles which is utterly ridiculous. It's been a while since I've seen the film so I forget some of the details but I remember these little parts. This is really just one of the dumbest movies I have seen though and it has so much lame Ted Turner antics in it like all this evil oil drilling people garbage ; it's a regular business if u don't like go hug a tree or something. They also got location wrong for movie Manthing's base of operations is a swamp in Florida not Louisiana. They also hardly explain anything about Manthing and his origin which in the movie they probably got wrong anyway. Hopefully they will never ruin a Marvel film worse than this one.
