I don't think Man-Thing would absorb powers or cause anyone to lose their powers. They'd just feel pain and maybe even receive serious damage to their body.

IIRC, at one point Man-Thing was able to burn through the Hulk's skull during one of their battles (it was in an issue of The Incredible Hulk but I don't remember which one it was...)

@mr.obvious: MY theory is that Man Thing's touch is actually a form of acid he can secrete from his hands, it's more of a flawed defence mechanism as near as I can tell because Man Thing only uses it on people who fear him and might attack him because of that fear!
