Russel Crowe
Kevin Costner
Movie » Man of Steel released on June 14, 2013.
Even as a teaser, a tease is still suppose to get people excited, but I saw this last night with my dad and even he said that he didn't know what it was about until that part at the end. He thought it was just some random movie, with nothing to do with Superman or any superhero. So I think as a tease, they could have done a little better to help people figure out "Oh hey! This is a Superman movie!"
Though I keep hearing that they showed a different trailer at Comic-Con, so I'm curious as to when they'll release that one. But overall, after seeing TDKR, I'm excited to see what they do with Superman in this new film.
@Lvenger: @War Killer: It was definitely a tease and not a trailer, but it worked magnificently as a teaser. I thought the music was perfectly fitting, the shots of him posing as a child with the cape, and when he broke the sound barrier, my jaw just dropped in awe.
Took me a while to figure it out but that music is from Lord of the Rings, after the bridge scene in fellowship. Good choice of trailer music I think
As a comic book fan I was very interested as I knew what it was about right, but until the very end you really had no idea what it was about. I mean even my father, who grew up watching the original Superman movies along with the various TV shows, even he told me that until the very end he didn't even realize it was a movie about superheroes, much less about Superman. So for the fans it was a great tease, but for people not expecting it, I felt that it was easily forgettable.@Lvenger: @War Killer: It was definitely a tease and not a trailer, but it worked magnificently as a teaser. I liked it. I think it's getting too much hate. It's only the first official trailer. More will come over the year.
@Deranged Midget: I liked the music and the childhood scene was nice. But to people who have no idea about a new Superman movie, the scenes of him on boats and attempting to hitch hike are going to provide a jarring experience. I didn't have much of an idea this was a Man of Steel trailer at some points.
@SandMan_: No :( I wish I did.
@Lvenger: @War Killer: I completely get where you're coming from. But honestly, they could've chosen better shots but at the same time, would have it been better to really start throwing in major scenes into the trailer when the film is a year away? Personally, I loved how The Avengers had their trailers; short scenes, little context about what was happening and exposed almost little about the plot which in turn creates more mystery and enjoyment when the film finally releases.

I can see where you're coming from here. And I suppose you're right. It's just the geek in me that wants to see more given what I know about the synopsis of the film and my expectations for it. And I did enjoy the Avengers teasers as bit by bit the film was pieced together. So I suppose the lack of footage in this teaser is a good thing.

@Deranged Midget: Congratulations your idea is infectious. How do you feel about this accomplishment? :P
I feel... nothing :/
Deadliest Catch: The Movie
Oh, wait... Superman's there too.
This trailer made me so damn mad when I saw it for the first time, lol.
The Costner one > The Crowe one

LMAO. This comment's making me picture Superman hauling giant fishes out of the ocean on a large fishing rod. It looks like Clark will have to give up his dreams of making a big catch to become the World's Greatest Superhero

THIS!!!!!!! and whoevers ''worried'' (cant even belive that) this is a TEASER trailer. the ending along with costner's words was enough to make me wanna see this!!
Saw the Crowe version in the theater, glad someone posted the Costner one as well. I think the music and the lines they choose for the teaser were great.....I don't think the scenes they showed were. Don't get me wrong, I'm actually hoping the trailers remain a bit more vague than what we've seen of movie trailers in the past few years (though I doubt it will happen). I just think they could have choosen a few more images of Smallville over the fishing vessel. I get the point of it though. Clark hasn't found his way yet but the point is both father's know he's destined for more. The suit scene I thought was perfect for the tone of the dialog.
