When creating this page, in my infinite wisdom, I misspelled Malcolm. Is there any way to change this, or should I create a new (correctly spelled) page?
Malcolm Reynolds
Character » Malcolm Reynolds appears in 102 issues.
Mal is the Captain of the ship Serenity. He is a veteran of the Unification War against the Alliance, fighting with the Independents (or "Browncoats").

Looove Firefly. I watched some of the episodes once with no commentary and then again with commentary. I think it's the best scifi show ever!!!!!! EVER!
It's as if they have great talent scouts, but crappy executives who end up cutting all the great shows.
I actually liked Dark Angel when it first started. It had potential (plus Jessica Alba). Yeah the second season got a little hokey but it had decent ratings. What does FOX do? They cancel it to put on Firefly. Then they don't even start out the show with the pilot. It didn't get a complete run when they decided to cancel it. Friday night. Great night for a show like that. Don't they realize that a lot of the viewers that might be interested in the show might actually have a life and not be home on Friday nights to watch it? And if the show was so bad, why would Universal be willing to invest money to make a movie (never mind the fact that the dvd sales shot through the roof).
But at least they have 24 and American Idol (yeah I was joking there).
I won't comment on Family Guy but they majorly screwed over Futurama. Why wasn't it on immediately after the Simpsons? Here on the west coast, it was on at 7 on Sundays. Primetime starts at 8. The last season was split over two seasons since they kept pre-empting it because of football.
But at least we're gonna get some new ep's soon!
What network will be showing the new episodes ? I've heard more than one answer to this, so I dont really know.
I've never seen any episodes of Firefly, but I heard somewhere that the first couple episodes are similar to the anime Outlaw Star. Any comments on that?

They're making two dvd movies. They're gonna chop them up and add narration and stuff to make it work as separate episodes. They'll be on Comedy Central. Let's hope this leads to MORE!
Not sure about Outlaw Star. Anyone remember the Adventures of the Galaxy Rangers? It was like one of the first cartoons in Dobly stereo, I think.

I had the choice of picking up 2 out of these 3 box sets; Firefly, Hellsing, and Outlaw Star a little while back. When I went back for Outlaw Star they'd already sold it and said they cant get any more. Not saying I made the wrong choice, but it would be nice to find that too. =\
I just watch Serenity with my wife. It was on HBO.
I love the "Early" character -- did he have a name in the movie? I think he's the best bad guy in any movie.
"The Operative" in the Serenity movie was not actually the same character as Early from the final episode of Firefly. Early was a bounty hunter who was hunting River purely for the money, whereas The Operative was working for The Alliance and honestly believed his work was for the good of the 'verse.
I love both characters, but for different reasons. I thought Early was more funny than evil, although definitely creepy when he's threatening Kaylee. The Operative, on the other hand, was pure, emotionless evil. He had absolutely no concern for anyone that he was hurting or killing. Both excellent characters.
