Planes, Trains and ...

This was a great conclusion to a well thought out and planned mini-series. Though I would have liked the final battle to last a bit longer, I was satisfied with how the fighting was portrayed and how it ended. The art is absolutely fantastic. It is a good thing, since this book was very "silent" - that is if you don't count the crashing of heavy equipment and transpiration devices. I would love to see these artists work on some of my other favorite titles - they really made this series!
That is not to say that the writing and the story was bad, quite the contrary actually. The story was well paced and fit perfectly into a four-part mini-series. I am a big fan of mini-series, if they are done right, and this one was certainly executed well. In fact, all the loose ends were tied up nicely - when the last page says, "END", you feel satisfied.
Now that I can trust this creative team will produce something that is both beautiful and worth my time to read, it would be great if they released another mini-series like this - whether it is related to this story-line or not. My vote would be for another Magneto story though, as he is pretty bad ass.
Either way, I definitely recommend this and the rest of this mini-series. Heck, they are only $2.99 per issue, that is cheaper than most books these days AND you get beautiful art and a great story.
