Kirby Hero introduces himself to
Kevin Matchstick and
Joe Phat by way of attacking the nest of harpies they were staking out. Kevin and Joe join in, and the harpies are routed. Kirby is another avatar, the Olympian. Their slave turns out to be the seemingly-insane
Wally Ut, who claims to be Kevin's second mage (replacing
Mirth). Kevin can't believe such a ridiculous figure could be his second mage. Kevin, Kirby, and Joe, on the other hand, all get along really well, and Kirby temporarily joins the other two on their quest. They drive off without Wally. Meanwhile, the
Pale Incanter sends his sons the
Sprigginflints to find the heroes.
