    Origin

Edward "Mad Dog" Mastock was the leading light of the Angry Brigade, an anti-French terrorist group active during Britain's campaign to gain independence from the French Empire. Unlike other resistance groups fighting French rule, who only wished to gain their country's independence and could arguably be called freedom fighters, the Angry Brigade actively hated the French and deliberately targetted civilians, so that even the other resistance fighters considered the Brigade murderous terrorists. Additionally, Mastock's psychotic bloodlust led him to brutally slaughter prostitutes. After Britain won her independence Mastock, one of the few survivors of the Angry Brigade, was arrested by Inspector LeBrock, tried, and sentenced to be executed. Imprisoned in the Tower of London, he escaped on the day of his execution, and travelled to Paris, pursued by LeBrock.

    Creation

Mastock was created by Bryan Talbot to be the main antagonist of the second volume of the Grandville series, Mon Amour.
