Monet St. Croix, also known as 'M', was originally a founding member of Generation X, later envolved with various X-Men related teams. Recently, she rejoined the newly reformed X-Corp (X-Corporation) in a main role.
I have been confused and angry about this for a while, too. I'm happy to see so many opinions on it that are similar to mine. But I have an addition. The new costume: I love. M getting her soul back: I love. The two things together: I don't love.
She's looking a bit like much like Jakita Wagner. I'm not sure which character came first, but Jakita has points for consistency. M has changed so much that it couldn't hurt to change some more and find a look that's a) consistent with her history and b) distinctive enough to become a trademark look. Marvel has work ahead of them for this character. I look forward to seeing more of her.

Q: just a quick question, I’ve been an avid Monet st. croix fan since she came out back in the late 90’s. Now I’m enjoying your run on x-factor….1 problem…..Monet has become a white woman? what happened? continuity error, retcon?
if its the colorist he/she needs to be fired because that chick currently in X-factor with the turquoise eyes is a slap in the face to what she was originally!
A: 1) For some reason the colorist made her pale for a while there. So we’ve been progressively making her skin darker and darker and we’re STILL getting complaints from fans asking why she’s white. I’m starting to think we could make her as dark as Storm and people would be complaining.
