Thats weird, I always thought M was for Mennonite.  If you want to find a religion that doesnt allow posing naked, Mennonite is it.

I would imagine someone like Monet, whose mother was killed by her demonic brother, all after blossoming into mutanthood with superstrength, superintellect, flight, telepathy, and endurance had nothing remotely close to a normal upbringing. She's had quite a fantastical life so posing nude or something would be out the realm of possibility to her.

She said she was Muslim but I know plenty of people who consider themselves to be culturally Jewish though not a practicing Jew. Maybe she merely identifies as being Muslim because it's simpler than saying "I'm a Bosnian-Algerian with other possible European origins"....I would imagine she takes every shortcut and abbreviation she can with a name like Monet Yvette Clarisse Maria Therese St. Croix.

i think M was identifying herself as been of a Muslim ethnicity i do not think she was stating that she was religiously of the Islamic persuasion. for example i myself am british which is often described as a Christian country while i myself am a atheist i could argue that i am ethically Christian. if you note M when rationalisms this she does not bring in any spiritual or religious aspect but talks about nationality... this is was i think PAD was aiming at and i am surprised that there has been so much debate about the subject.

I thought England was something like 40% atheist.

those figure are most probably correct yes. however we describe Britain as a Christian country because traditionally our moral code law have been influenced by Christian ideology and dogma. thus M in x factor is describing her home nation in the same way due to its traditions . thus she is of Muslim ethnic origin from their traditional cultural and moral standpoint without been a practicing member of the religion or actually believe in it.

In the middle ages large parts of Europe could be classified as Christian countries. However centuries ago it has moved away from that classification. There is a separation from church and state or a separation from nation and faith. So Britain can't really be compared with the "Muslim World" countries where faith plays much more pervasive role in all sorts of ways including law.

John Locke (from England) was one of the people who influenced this change.

But a Muslim who poses naked, shows her goods at any passing super hero/villain who flies over the building while she's sunbathing naked, and flashes her fullsome funbags when in her super hero costume? It's not jsut 'highly unlikely'. It just wouldn't happen.

there are porn stars who originate from middle east and south east asia. I know they were born muslim. maybe they deconverted, who knows, but the point is these people actually exist.

btw, as shown latest issue of x-factor, monet isn't just muslim by cultural heritage, but also by belief. right now I find her character contradicting
