Lord Volt is a fictional character in the DC Universe. In the DC Comics 12-issue limited series Crisis on Infinite Earths (1985-1986), the character was one of the rulers of Earth-Six, which was ruled by royalty. In the current New 52 era DC Multiverse, Lord Volt and his spouse Lady Quark are now the monarchs of Earth-48, which appears to be a modern analogue of Earth-Six in the original DC multiverse.
History
Crisis on Infinite Earths: Earth-6
In this parallel universe, the planet of Earth-Six the United States had lost the Revolutionary War. The leader of the current time is the super-powered Lord Volt who was also part of the Earth-Six royal family of metahumans and Lady Quark's consort. Lord Volt and his wife Lady Quark ruled America as a super-powered monarchy. During the Crisis on Infinite Earths, Lord Volt tried in vain to save his daughter Princess Fern from the antimatter wave before it killed her. He and his of Earth-Six were destroyed by the Anti-Monitor's anti-matter wave. The parallel universe of Earth-Six was subsequently destroyed and only Lady Quark would become its reality's sole survivor. She is saved at the last minute by Pariah, a dimensional traveler.
Multiversity: Earth-48
In Grant Morrison's Multiversity series, Lady Quark and her husband, Lord Volt, appear as residents of Earth-48 of the New 52's modified DC Multiverse. According to subsequent information, this iteration of Earth-48 is a fusion of the pre-Crisis on Infinite Earths Earth-Six and Warworld (52's Earth-48). During the Multiversity series, Lady Quark and her husband, Lord Volt, appear as residents of Earth-48 of the New 52's modified DC Multiverse. Lady Quark, Lord Volt and their daughter Liana are members of Earth-48's royal family, much as they were on Earth-Six.
