Because she embodied the character of Lois like no other. She was fierce and heartfelt and a force of nature. She commanded the presence every time she was on screen despite appearing next to characters who can move worlds.

That's who Lois is and that's what Durance did.

Erica Durance is by far the best Lois Lane. She completes the character as how Lois Lane should be, like in the comics. She is original. No one by far has been able to beat Erica, not even Amy Adams.
